@Heccles94 What is the official Green party stance on Nuclear? Because if you want to get serious about decarbonising, then you should be pro-nuclear. That's not to say renewables don't have a place in our energy mix - of course they do - but Germany is a cautionary tale.
The only thing that will bring happiness is affection and warmheartedness. This really brings inner strength and self-confidence, reduces fear, develops trust, and trust brings friendship. We are social animals, and cooperation is necessary for our survival, but cooperation is entirely based on trust. When there is trust, people are brought together—whole nations are brought together. When you have a more compassionate mind and cultivate warmheartedness, the whole atmosphere around you becomes more positive and friendlier.
@bonfelle@AaronBastani In fairness I felt very strongly against Jerusalem being the English national anthem not long ago, because they DIDN'T teach poetry well in my school. But now I'm better at it, I'm slowly changing my mind :)
@bonfelle@AaronBastani No, you don't understand, the song itself is deeply inspired by England's history (particularly industrial periods) and folklore (Jesus/Joseph of Arimathea visiting England), and 'Jerusalem' is the symbology Blake uses to evoke a better society.
@bonfelle@AaronBastani Regardless of what you draw from it, it has been regularly sung (and continues to be sung) by quite progressive movements, which I think says a lot about its meaning and the message it carries.
@PhilPhilberts66@markblk9779@ClarkeMicah@PygmalionXXVIII And if the evidence has been shown to be false or the premises of the trial are shown to be inaccurate? What then?
If I found you guilty of something and you knew in your heart of hearts it was based on bad evidence, you'd quite rightly fight the conviction. End of.
@thesoubr@ClarkeMicah For most reactors, 1kg of uranium will give off the same amount of useful energy as around 200 tons of coal.
My favourite fact about fission is that it's exceptionally clean, emitting around 5g of CO2 per kWh produced.
@Heccles94 Can you be more specific, Harry, when you use words like fascism, as I feel it ruins any chance of conversation... Unless of course you don't want to converse but just to stir up emotion.
@MittensOff To be fair I think any artist worth their salt these days would point out that the flag represents the ideology that people often follow blindly. It is ironic that those who would condemn nationalism whilst blindly following their own "ism".
@MaxFRobespierre Anyone who blindly follows an idea will risk falling off a cliff. Doesn't matter which flag their shagging... Rigid ideology is the downfall
