Spent some time discussing the current NFT landscape with a few respected OGs, @audreyisnew and @Soathefirstt
One thing we all agreed on?

Too many projects follow the same playbook:
Mint → Reveal → Roadmap → Silence.

During the conversation, @Blackwater_Z26 came up as a project trying to break that cycle, so I decided to look deeper.

I found that it’s founded by @asymes9, someone who’s been around the space for a while with a genuine appreciation for art and community.

Here’s what caught my attention:
Rather than building another PFP collection, Blackwater is creating a living universe where the story continues long after mint. Every holder becomes part of the ecosystem, not just a collector.
The journey starts with only 200 Clearance Passes:

Once they’re all claimed, 4,444 Blackwater Rats are released on Ethereum.

But the mint isn’t the destination.
Holders gain access to a lightweight strategy game where daily decisions shape the world. Every Rat belongs to one of eight factions, each aligned with either spreading or containing the outbreak, giving every NFT a role beyond simply sitting in a wallet.
If Blackwater delivers on this vision, it could be a refreshing shift from the usual mint-and-disappear model we’ve seen for years.
