@UncleSloppyJoe @CyrtHogg Reading the rule book as well. That last line is key. The rule is to protect the offense not the defense so that no one drops the ball on purpose. There was nothing ordinary about that effort.

@UncleSloppyJoe @CyrtHogg If the infielder is not set under the ball you can’t call an infield fly rule. That last part of ordinary effort. 1B had no idea where the ball was even at. Therefore he didn’t give ordinary effort.
