Very excited about this report from Visa, showcasing how Chainlink is able to solve the three biggest problems of next generation smart contracts for institutional transactions, all in one platform.
1. Providing the critical data needed to properly price the assets in the transaction and enable transfer agents.
2. Connecting multiple chains to enable the value and the data of the transaction to move across multiple chains. Powering a public chain to private chain connection in this case.
3. Enabling compliance by providing on-chain identity proofs and matching them against various policies from two different jurisdictions and regulatory frameworks.
Smart contract transactions in the institutional world are complex, they require various sources of data, multiple cross-chain connections and a reliable form of on-chain identity/compliance, all of which the Chainlink standard is able to uniquely provide in one secure and reliable platform.
This transaction between ANZ and Fidelity International, two existing institutional users of Chainlink, all happening within the HKMA regulatory framework which Chainlink has now been being built work within for many years. Complicated flows like this, being executed in a compliant way, is a clear sign of the unique value that Chainlink is now able to provide.
As more top institutions adopt the Chainlink standard for data, connectivity and compliance, I expect that they will begin to transact with each other more frequently, as the friction for the institutions on this comprehensive transactional standard is much less than the cost of a transaction on institutions that are on various seperate standards with multiple ways of proving data, connecting chains and creating compliance. As more and more top institutions join the Chainlink standard for institutional transactions to happen on-chain, the network and the standards become more valuable to the current participants and the ones considering joining the transactional standard.
Excited about seeing more of these coming up and having Chainlink power the next stage of our industry's growth through mainstream institutional adoption.

Ethereum's future is bright.

.@Aave’s decentralized stablecoin $GHO uses @Chainlink CCIP for native cross-chain token transfers in a unique way
Because GHO is exclusively issued on Ethereum, all cross-chain GHO takes the form of canonical wrapped tokens fully collateralized by GHO on Ethereum via CCIP, while retaining fungibility across chains
This is enabled by using a combination of ‘lock-and-mint’ + ‘burn-and-mint’ transfers
Transfers of GHO between Ethereum and non-Ethereum chains involve either: (1) Locking GHO on Ethereum to mint wrapped GHO on another chain or (2) Burning wrapped GHO on another chain to unlock GHO on Ethereum
For transfers of GHO across non-Ethereum chains: Wrapped GHO is burned on one chain while an equivalent amount of wrapped GHO is minted on another (GHO reserves on Ethereum remain untouched)
Aave began with initial support for Ethereum and Arbitrum, but this design means GHO can seamlessly scale to whatever additional chain the Aave community decides in the future
All of this without path dependence issues (I.e. no doubly wrapped token nonsense) or the need for liquidity pools (i.e. no slippage issues)
Furthermore, Aave owns both the GHO token contracts and CCIP token pool deployments across every chain, ensuring zero vendor lock-in and maximum flexibility
$GHO was the most transferred token over CCIP by volume in the past month 👀
The competitive advantage of Chainlink is its platform positioning
A unified platform that provides all the trust-minimized services that dApps need, but blockchains do not or cannot provide
Nearly every application in DeFi and Web3 already uses Chainlink in some manner, for offchain data, compute, and/or cross-chain capabilities
This leads to an interesting property
If an app is already using Chainlink for one service (e.g. price data), then expanding their usage of the Chainlink platform for additional features (e.g. cross chain) introduces little to no additional trust assumptions or vender risk
People like to think about the dApp trust model in a vacuum, as a blank slate, but the reality is that it never is, if you already use oracles in some capacity, why not limit your vendor risk exposure by using a common platform for all these functions you need
The challenge that Chainlink faces is not that of obtaining users (i.e. what “LINK killers” face), but the more important problem of scaling the platform to meet the growing demand from new and existing users across all environments
Expect to hear more about how Chainlink is scaling in the near future

Three distinctly unique, complementary protocols that are leaders in their respective use case verticals which will continue to dominate for years to come
Can’t think of any other protocols that provide as much value and utility to the crypto ecosystem
