Puebla is Twice as old as……..the USA! Yes….true.
Before this trip to Mexico, I knew nothing about Puebla: Puebla, where the Angels sang the first City into the new world. Puebla, where the battle for Mexican Independence happened…..Cinco De Mayo. Puebla, where the Volcanoes have always been. Puebla, where Christendom settled into the Americas and flourished. Puebla…….a real place in the History of it all. Puebla, where I am starting to see into Mexico.

-Spanish colonists founded Puebla on April 16, 1531, as one of the first planned cities in the Americas built "from scratch" without overlaying an existing indigenous settlement. It was designed as a strategic stop on the trade route between Mexico City and the port of Veracruz, intended to house Spanish settlers (described at the time as the first "perfect" or ideal Spanish-style city in the New World).
