A note from Team Oyin ๐
Before Oyin entered the house, some past tweets from her personal account regarding previous housemates have resurfaced and understandably caused hurt within the community.
We want to address this directly. Oyin is currently unable to speak for herself while in the house, but we won't hide from this on her behalf. Those tweets don't reflect who she's shown herself to be, and there's no excuse that undoes the impact of those words.
What we can say is this: like many of us, Oyin was once just a fan caught up in the emotion of the show, the banter, the loyalty to faves, the late night arguments. That intensity can pull the best of us into saying things we don't truly mean. It doesn't make it right, and when she's out of the house, we know she'll want to address this herself, fully and honestly.
For now, on her behalf, we say sorry. Genuinely, to anyone affected.
We're asking the #BBNaija family to hold her accountable, the way real support always should, while also giving her the grace to grow the way this show has a way of bringing out of people.
Thank you for loving Oyin enough to care about this. ๐๐

That Huda situation....the way she put up a statement almost immediately after it happened, you can convince me it wasn't a trap set up by her and her deranged fans
The same people that โawwwโ at this rubbish still hate Leah for the minor Connor thing. What this babe did to Cierra was evil. If you have a friend that moves that way in real life, youโre in danger.
Yโall let her believe that he had to completely lock in with Cierra, to โprepareโ himself to be the โmanโ she wanted๐ญ. Keep in mind that shes saying this knowing the whole time he was โwatchingโ her for weeks,he was with her friend. #okbro
The cruelty is the point.
This is about othering us, ostracising us and removing any sense of normalcy.
There is no reason why a trans girl shouldn't be able to compete with other girls in sports. This isn't anything professional, it's about having a friend group / community.
a community with its foundation being built on inclusion, its starting to feel oddly isolating seeing how much the neocolonial mindset and saviour complex has dug its nails deep into the coalition. we must isolate eurocentric ideologies especially as women of colour.
