He wasn't a career criminal. He was a Russel group university student.
State authorities assisted a foreigner in stabbing him to death.
This is 100x worse than George Floyd.
🔸 April 30 - The Apostle James (Son of Zebedee) 🔸
Today, we commemorate the Holy Apostle James, the son of Zebedee. He was one of the original Twelve Apostles of Christ, and the first Apostle to suffer a martyr’s death. St James was a fisherman along with his brother St John the Theologian. Called by Christ, the brothers left their boat, their father and their fishing nets, and cleaved to Christ (Matthew 4:21-22). They followed Him everywhere, listening to His preaching and seeing His miracles.
When a samaritan village rejected the Savior, James and John, who loved the Lord and showed Him much loyalty, wanted to call down fire from heaven to destroy the unbelievers (Luke 9:54). Christ rebuked the brothers however, saying that He came not to destroy men but to save them. Christ called the brothers “Sons of Thunder” (Mark 3:17), acknowledging their zeal and quick-temper. Along with John and Peter, James was a witness to the raising of the daughter of Jairus by the Lord, His Transfiguration on Mount Tabor, and His agony in the garden of Gethsemane.
After Pentecost, he preached in Spain and in other lands. He returned to Jerusalem where he fearlessly rebuked the Pharisees and Scribes for their hardheartedness and unbelief. The Jews could not prevail against the wisdom of James, so they hired the sorcerer Hermogenes to dispute with the apostle and refute his arguments that Christ was the promised Messiah. The sorcerer sent his pupil Philetus to the Apostle, who was converted Christ upon hearing the divinely inspired words spoken by James. Hermogenes also became persuaded of the power of God, and burned his magic books, accepted Holy Baptism and became a true follower of Christ.
The Jews, angered that James had converted many to Christ, persuaded King Herod Agrippa (40-44) to arrest the Apostle and sentence him to death: “Herod, the king, stretched forth his hand to vex certain people of the Church. And he killed James, the brother of John, with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also... And he put him in prison” (Acts 12:1-4). In this manner, the Holy Apostle James delivered his soul in 44 AD.
