I was told I couldnโt hang with the older girls.
Too young.
Too small.
Not ready.
They said it like it was a fact.
Like the field had an age limit written in the dirt. Then I stepped in. And I didnโt just hang- I tripped them up.
A clean triple that made the older girls scramble, the fence rattle, and every person watching remember why you never count a competitor out based on the year on her birth certificate. I am not asking for permission anymore. I am taking my at-bats, running the bases, and rewriting the narrative one hard-hit ball at a time. To every girl whoโs ever been told sheโs not ready: KEEP SWINGING!! ๐ฅ#SoftballLife #SheCanHang @softball@SoftballDown@ExtraInningSB@PrepSoftball@ChefMeganCookin@SBRRetweets@miakscottt@KarenWeekly@CanadyNijaree@gatorjack72
Fielding the ball clean, and shut the play down. No panic, no rush โ just pure focus and clean glove work.
This is the kind of defensive play that changes the energy of an inning. I was ready, I made the play, and the runner was out. Staying locked in and focused-this is how you impact the game even when youโre not at the plate.
