How much of every $100 does an average Canadian really keep? 🇨🇦
It’s not just income tax.
By the time you factor in payroll deductions and other common taxes, a significant share of your earnings has already gone.
A simplified illustration:
🏛️ Income tax ~$18
👴 CPP & EI ~$6
🏠 Property tax* ~$8
🛒 Sales tax ~$7
⛽ Fuel tax ~$7
💰 Left to spend: ~$54
*Property tax may be paid directly by homeowners or indirectly through rent.
The exact numbers vary by province, income, and spending habits, but the broader point is the same:
Many Canadians pay far more than just income tax.🇨🇦
Today, my odometer crossed the 100 000 km mark. I bought the car in september 2024 and 97% of those kms were on FSD.
0$ spent on maintenance. No repairs, no oil changes, no BS. Just an incredibly reliable car I can count on, even on those -40°C winter mornings in Canada when I get into a warm, toasty car without having to scrape ice or clear snow off the windows, since the defrost function takes care of it all. This car hasn't failed me even once.
14 000$ saved on gas alone.
Still on the original sets of summer and winter tires.
Over 1200 hours of driving effort avoided.
Multiple accidents avoided.
Numerous animal lives saved.
To put it simply, it's the best car I've ever driven... even though it's also the one I've actually driven the least lol.

Federal government executives took $200 million in bonuses last year.
88% of executives took a bonus.
Departments barely meet half of their own performance targets each year.
They write their own test. They barely get a D-. They reward failure by taking more of your money.
Dr. Julie Ponesse just said what a lot of Canadians are thinking but rarely say this clearly.
Income tax. Sales tax. Property tax. Carbon tax. CPP. EI.
When you add it all up, close to 70 cents of every dollar earned is gone before groceries, before the mortgage, before anything you actually want to do with the money you worked for.
Meanwhile the government props up the banks and tells the rest of us to tighten our belts and lock what’s left into RRSPs — vehicles the system itself controls.
Canadian money gets sent overseas for priorities we never voted for.
Housing is unaffordable.
Food is unaffordable.
Getting ahead feels impossible.
She’s not against paying her share.
She’s against paying into a system that no longer works for the average Canadian.
And her final line is the one that matters most:
“Yours truly, your ACTUAL boss. In case you forgot.”
An Endless Media Onslaught Telling You To Get A Bigger, Better House
Multiple Cable Channels just about the BS of buying a better house or pissing money away on Renovation
It's a whole damn Industry
And is it really all a Grift?
Is your life any better with a $250K Kitchen?
WOW
A reporter called @FoodProfessor to tell him the taxpayer funded broadcaster can no longer speak with him.
Why?
Because he criticized federal media subsidies.
They're freezing out a credible expert for questioning the public funding of media.
The same month the CBC got record funding to “combat disinformation.”
The same government that wants to sue Canadians for social posts.
Is anyone else seeing this?
This is an excellent commentary by Stephen LeDrew regarding Carney.
“When it’s talking about getting serious work done, I think we may have a Prime Minister who doesn’t know politics, who thinks he’s running a bank, who has given all kinds of benefits to certain friends…he doesn’t have the character necessary to be a successful Prime Minister to lead this country out of the malaise that it’s been in since 2015”
"My name's Harvey. I'm 68. I work the night shift at TravelCenter truck stop on I-40. Pump diesel, ring up snacks, clean showers. Same blue vest for thirteen years. Truckers fuel up, grab coffee, hit the road. Most are gone in fifteen minutes.
🤩🤩But I see who stays parked.
Like the trucker who'd been sitting in his rig for three days. Engine off. Never came inside except for bathroom. No food, no shower, just sitting.
🤩Fourth morning, I knocked on his cab. "You okay, buddy?"
He rolled down the window. Looked exhausted. "Broke down. Waiting on parts. Can't afford to eat and fix the truck both. Truck wins."
"When'd you eat last?"
"Tuesday."
It was Friday.
🌭☕️🍟I went inside, made him a hot dog, brought chips and coffee. "Store policy. Can't sell day-old stuff."
It wasn't day-old. But he was starving.
😭😞He cried eating that hot dog.
Started noticing others. The female trucker sleeping in her cab because shower credits cost too much. The rookie driver rationing gas station food because rookie pay barely covers fuel. Truckers choosing between eating and making deliveries on time.
💖✅I began keeping food. "Expired" items still perfectly good. When truckers looked desperate, I'd "find" extras they could have.
Word spread on the CB radio. "Harvey at the I-40 TravelCenter helps drivers."
❤️Then something unexpected. A trucker I'd fed years ago made it big, started his own company. Came back, left $1,000. "For drivers who are where I was."
👆Now our TravelCenter has a "Trucker Relief Fund." Other truck stops copied it. Fifty-three stops across nine states.
I'm 68. I scan Slim Jims and pump diesel fuel at a highway truck stop.
😕😓But I learned, truckers deliver everything we need to survive. And they're often starving, broke, sleeping in their cabs because one breakdown destroys them financially.
😢💔Watch your lot. Someone's been parked three days without moving. Someone's choosing between fuel and food.
Find the expired snacks. Offer the shower credit. Sometimes a $4 hot dog is what keeps a trucker from giving up on a road that already gave up on them."

LCBO tariffs his BC wine at 71% - he says Trump is a lot better at only 50% ...... this interprovincial trade barrier talk is all a lot of hooey, it's not changing......
In December, an 85-year-old North Carolina widow called a tree company begging for firewood, she said she was cold and couldn't heat her home.
The owner delivered it free and then fixed her roof, her heat, her car, raised $20,000 for her Christmas... and STILL maintains her property free, checking on her every week.
Her name is Nana Abernathy. She had just lost her husband and was struggling to survive on her own when she made that call last December.
Paul Brittain, the owner, showed up with the firewood himself. No charge.
But while he was there, he noticed things: a leaking roof, a broken heating unit, a car that needed tires.
So he came back, this time with his whole crew.
They fixed the roof.
Replaced the heat.
Put new tires on her car.
All for free.
Then, for Christmas, Paul raised $20,000 for her.
To this day, he maintains her property at no charge and checks on her every single week, just to make sure she's okay.
He has never charged her a dime.
This is the America I love!!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Let me empathize something.
1.8 million Canadians visited the U.S.A. in one month.
That's only vehicle trips.
Annually 30 million Canadians visit the U.S.A. Any talk about boycotting the U.S. is bullshit.
Just like everyone is still on this platform, still shopping at Walmart, and still watching US movies.
We depend on the U.S.A.

🚨 Canadians should see this.
CIB CEO Ehren Cory refused to tell Parliament his salary.
MP Sandra Cobena revealed it anyway:
💰 $1,000,000/year taxpayer funded.
After 9 years, the $35B CIB has: 🏻♂️
• 8 completed projects
• Only ~$15B deployed by 2028 (PBO)
🚨$38.7M in bonuses for 149 staff🚨
Canadians freeze.
Bureaucrats cash in.
Keep the CIB ..or scrap it? 👇🇨🇦

Bloomberg has obtained a copy of the US-Canada deal which Carney refuses to release
In complete CONTRADICTION to what Carney told Canada, the leaked document shows the deal does NOT allow Canada to deduct Canada’s massive debt-service costs on the $6.4 billion bridge
It is with profound sadness that the Saskatchewan Roughriders mourn the loss of linebacker and team captain Jayden Dalke, who passed away in a car accident yesterday evening. A relentless warrior on the field, Jayden’s determination, toughness and work ethic inspired his teammates, who cared deeply for him and are heartbroken by his passing.
Jayden had a unique gift of making the people around him feel special and valued. No one ever left a conversation with him without a smile. On and off the field, he was the true definition of what it means to be a Saskatchewan Roughrider.
Our hearts go out to the entire Dalke family, who traveled the country to watch Jayden live his dream. We will miss him terribly and will never forget the impact he had on our lives and our team.
