We're excited to announce that our team, led by @AstridbCRE, recently helped a tenant client secure a 10-year retail lease in East Cobb, GA.
Our client knew their current space wasn’t working anymore.
Foot traffic was inconsistent, visibility was limited, and the location no longer fit where their business was headed.
As their Tenant Rep, we studied their needs, toured several spaces, and found a new location that solved each of their problems:
- Better visibility
- Stronger traffic counts
- Room to grow
Then came the part most people never see.
We spent several months negotiating with the landlord’s team, going back and forth multiple times and finding creative solutions when the deal almost fell apart.
In the end, we secured lease terms that protected our client’s bottom line, not only in year one, but for the full lease term.
At @GiftwoodRE, we don’t just find space.
We fight for what our clients need.
Here’s what every business owner should know:
When you negotiate directly with a landlord, you’re sitting across from someone working for them, not you.
Why wouldn’t you want to have someone on your side, especially when it costs you nothing?
Most business owners don’t even realize tenant representation exists, let alone that it’s usually free.
Let that sink in...
If you're a business owner or decision-maker thinking about relocating, expanding, or renegotiating your lease, let’s talk!

Dealt with this earlier today with an opposing broker, so I decided it was as good a time as any to discuss it
Type A individuals are, objectively, fucking assholes
Period.
The fact is, Type A individuals are downright douchebags who lack self-awareness.
This truth is supported by several psychological frameworks (most of which should sound familiar if you've dealt with these people):👇
Priority of Intent Over Impact:
- People lacking self-awareness often focus solely on their intent (e.g., meeting a deadline, achieving a goal, etc.) rather than the impact their behavior has on others (e.g., being abrasive or dismissive)
Externalization of Blame:
-A hallmark of low self-awareness is the inability to take personal accountability. As such, when things go wrong, these individuals may externalize negative emotions and blame others, which can manifest as the "hostility" characteristic of Type A behavior (healthy, right? 🥴)
Fragile Ego and Defensiveness:
- Research suggests that "high-achieving, Type A" personalities struggle with self-reflection because they view mistakes or negative feedback as a threat to their self-perception (what a wonderful feedback loop! 🤗)
- Instead of reflecting, they double down on their position, resulting in them appearing rigid or arrogant
Free-Floating Hostility:
- The original definition of Type A behavior includes what the shrinks call "free-floating hostility," which is a tendency to become easily irritated by minor things
- When this is paired with a lack of insight into how their anger affects their environment, it is frequently perceived as being an "asshole" (hey, now, don't shoot the messenger 🤷♂️)
Scientific Validity of the "Type":
- Many psychologists now consider "Type A" to be a misnomer or myth. Instead of a single type, it is a collection of traits like overcompetitiveness and impatience that vary independently (lovely character traits 🙄)
- Ultimately, calling oneself "Type A" is used as a "socially acceptable" shield for toxic behaviors that are actually just poor emotional regulation
If you think you're "Type A," it'd do you good to take a long look in the mirror...
But who am I kidding?
Wishful thinking 🤦♂️
