The joy scrolling for several hours after that insane game last night. Especially watching all the stories from my friends who were born and raised in NYC.
What an amazing feeling. 🥹
The shortest way to put it when talking about the overlap of the 2025-2026 Knicks and peak LI Joe, is that the presence of doubt never arrives in pursuit of victory.
But more on Joe specifically:
Guys like Joe play with the willpower of Bruce Wayne buried alive but with none of the intellectual resources. Even Bruce Wayne is unsure he can escape a situation where he's been buried alive, but he'll marshal his cunning and wit to give himself the best odds.
Joe on the other hand? He just thinks he's gonna get out alive and then does.
It's disturbing to even say he "thinks"--- Human vocabulary isn't expansive enough to properly identify what Joe is doing when he makes a decision. It's a sneeze of the brain; a new word needs to be prescribed. It's some sort of alternative biological process, arguably the byproduct of a genetic mutation. This has science and philosophical implications as it pertains to determinism and free will.
The best part about the intensity of his determination is that it's all supported by nothing. If he took stock of his actual skill set he'd retire from fighting games yesterday. But the man can run off a cliff and remain suspended in air longer than Wile E. Coyote because even a cartoon has the humility to look down at some point and realize there's no basis by which he should be floating. The Coyote only falls when he looks down. Joe refuses to look down.
He's just a disgusting fucking pig really.
I've seen way too many comebacks from this team but today was probably the greatest comeback I've ever seen in my entire life.
I will remember today for the rest of my life. Just incredible.
