The Hal Jordan reveal in #Lanterns hits differently now.

John says he respects Hal because he’s fearless. Kerry challenges that: Hal isn’t fearless…he’s lonely.

Hal grew up believing he was destined to die when the demons eventually won. He knew exactly what being left behind does to someone, so he made sure nobody would have to feel that pain because of him.

That’s why the ring chose him.

Hal wasn’t a hero because he had nothing to fear. He was a hero because he had already accepted his own death.
