We need our academic colleagues while many focus on the here and now. This has the potential to really make a difference to people nearing the end of their life.
In this study, we analyzed urine samples from lung #cancer patients to help predict when a person is in their last 30 days of life. This will hopefully help improve care by identifying people who need #palliativecare.

A powerful discussion this morning l, with a great panel, about caring for family and loved ones. @WillowKaty words have stuck with me “we are the economy but you’d never know it”.
The minister said the dept has been clear with @hmtreasury about the growing cost and demand for social care… fundamental to @homecareassn members, many of whom are delivering homecare for local authorities below our estimated minimum price.
The future of local gov with @JimfromOldham and others. Clearly stating the Gov can’t achieve their missions without more for local gov. Dept is bidding for 💰 like all. Real focus on a 1 yr emergency response, before multi yr settlements, however necessary.
Our Member Helpline can help with questions about homecare practice as well as providing advice to overcome any problems, obstacles and concerns. We're here to talk about everything-homecare, so whatever your question is get in touch!

An insightful session on being ‘inside No 10’ with @ayeshahazarika@liambyrnemp and Lord Adonis. My key takeaways: it takes 6-7 months for a PM to set up No10 & scale of ambition and character of PM is more influential than teams. Important for our influencing work @homecareassn
🧵 Listening to @justinmadders talk about the imminent Employment Rights Bill this morning. He says that @biztradegovuk are consulting businesses. They are not. The 18,500 PAYE employers in the care sector are excluded from meetings & correspondence ignored.

@homecareassn A recommitment by the minister that this bill will be published within the first 100 days of government. That means there are about 20 days to go….
