Lt Rhodri Leyshon named as the pilot killed when Merlin Mk4 of 846 NAS ditched in the sea on Wednesday evening.

One of Commando Helicopter Force’s most capable aircraft captains and instructors. He joined the Wales URNU in 2010 and commissioned into the RN in 2014.

12 months at the ATC Pirbright complete. So lucky to have been developed and invested in by incredible Section Commanders and my Troop Sergeant and hopefully vice versa! 55 Recruits into the Field Army. Unbelievable pride and fulfilment, the most rewarding job.

@mfuller4577 I completely understand why you’d feel uncomfortable, especially as a dad. I experienced USB this year in work and my dad who is serving felt the same. My thoughts about the court martial encouraged me to report the unacceptable behaviour.

I have sat through a Court Martial for unacceptable sexual conduct. The SP was found “not guilty” - the first response from the 2 Pte’s was that they will never complain about something again. A year on, it’s the most heartbreaking sentence I’ve heard as a young, female Officer.
