I could make a long list of reasons why visiting Japan is so awesome, but number 1 is it’s one of the few countries in Asia where I can eat absolutely anything and not get food poisoning.

Call me negative, but I always sort hotel reviews lowest to highest.

Booking sites bury the truth under 5-star spam.

Real red flags? Repeated complaints about thin walls, trash internet, nasty breakfast, or low water pressure.

Better to know before you book than suffer later.

@AnthonyEveryWhr Yeah, it sucks that you can't get lifetime titanium. There's less incentive for you to stay more with them rather than build status with another chain now.

@AnthonyEveryWhr Still far away from getting any lifetime status. With Marriott you can only get lifetime platinum, not titanium. But lifetime titaniums do exist, if they got it from their SPG status when they merged with Marriott.

@AnthonyEveryWhr I've got Diamond with Hilton and Titanium with Marriott, so there's a lot of options in any big city.
