Without specialized hearing aids, Baker cannot hear his parents, communicate normally, or experience the sounds that most children take for granted.

في القنطرة  عكار، تعيش مريم شعبان(54) وزوجها علي (60) مع ابنتيهما نور وسمية، اللتين تعانيان من إعاقات ذهنية وجسدية، فيما تعاني نور أيضًا من شلل جزئي بعد جلطة دماغية. اضطرت الأم إلى ترك العمل للتفرغ لرعاية ابنتيها، بينما يعمل الأب بشكل متقطع رغم مشاكله الصحية.
تعيش العائلة اليوم في فقر شديد ومن دون أي ضمان صحي أو دعم ثابت، حتى أن الأم تفكر في بيع ملابسها
لتأمين الطعام والدواء لعائلتها.

In Qantara, Akkar, Mariam Shaaban (54)and
her husband Ali (60)are struggling to care for their daughters, Nour and Soumaya, who both live with intellectual and physical disabilities. Nour also suffers from partial paralysis after a stroke. Mariam had to stop working completely to care for her daughters, while her husband works irregularly despite his own health problems.
The family is living in extreme poverty with no health insurance or stable support, and the mother has even considered selling her clothes just to provide food and medication.

في عين إبل، جنوب لبنان، حيث لا تزال الحرب المستمرة تلقي بظلالها الثقيلة على حياة السكان، يعيش لبيب منصور (72 عاماً) مع زوجته إيميليتا وابنتهما ماري وسط ظروف إنسانية بالغة الصعوبة.

يعاني لبيب من فقدان 80% من بصره بسبب مضاعفات السكري وتلف الأعصاب، إضافة إلى إصابته بارتفاع ضغط الدم والكوليسترول، ما جعله غير قادر على العمل وتأمين احتياجات أسرته.

تعتمد العائلة اليوم على دخل محدود وغير ثابت تؤمّنه الزوجة من خلال أعمال تنظيف متفرقة، فيما تواجه يومياً تحديات الفقر والمرض وانعدام الاستقرار.

In Ain Ebel, South Lebanon, where the ongoing war continues to impact every aspect of daily life, Labib Mansour (72) lives with his wife Emilita and their daughter Marie under extremely difficult humanitarian conditions.

Labib suffers from 80% vision loss caused by complications of diabetes and nerve damage, in addition to hypertension and high cholesterol, leaving him unable to work and support his family.

Today, the family survives on the limited and irregular income his wife earns through occasional cleaning jobs while facing the daily burdens of poverty, illness, and uncertainty.

Amine Ali Hijazi (43), a father of two little girls, has lived with quadriplegia since a swimming accident. During the 2024 war, his family was displaced from Aytaroun to Dahyeh, where they now face extremely difficult health and financial conditions. Amin urgently needs daily medication and medical supplies, while his wife also struggles with health issues as she cares for the family. They need support for housing, medical care, and basic living necessities.

قامت رئيسة جمعية سطوح بيروت بزيارةٍ إلى معالي وزير الداخلية والبلديات، احمد الحجار حيث عرضت معه مشاريع الجمعية ونشاطاتها، ودعته إلى زيارة مركز “نساء الشمس” للاطلاع على أهدافه وبرامجه في رعاية وتمكين النساء الأكثر حاجة، ومساعدتهن على تحقيق الاستقلالية والاندماج في المجتمع.

كما استعرضت معه الجهود التي قامت وتقوم بها الجمعية خلال الحرب الأخيرة لدعم العائلات المتضررة في مختلف المناطق اللبنانية، وأطلعته على التحضيرات لإطلاق “تيليتون” خيري يهدف إلى تأمين استمرارية المساعدات لما يقارب 1000 عائلة في مختلف أنحاء لبنان، وذلك في 25 حزيران المقبل.

The President of Stouh Beirut Association paid a visit to the Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad el Hajjar ,where she presented the association’s projects and activities and invited him to visit the “Women of the Sun” Center to learn more about its mission and programs dedicated to supporting and empowering women in need, helping them achieve independence and integration into society.

She also reviewed the association’s efforts during the recent war in supporting affected families across various Lebanese regions, and informed him about the preparations for an upcoming charity telethon aimed at ensuring continued assistance for nearly 1,000 families throughout Lebanon, scheduled to take place on June 25.

بالتعاون مع شعبة المعلوماتية في قوى الأمن الداخلي، نظّمت جمعية سطوح بيروت في مركزها “نساء الشمس” – الشوير، 5 دورات توعية حول مخاطر الإنترنت والسلامة الرقمية، استفاد منها أكثر من 500 طالب وأهل من ضهور الشوير، المروج، بكفيا، عين الخروبة وبسكنتا.

تضمّنت الدورات إرشادات حول الحماية والتبليغ، إضافة إلى شهادات حيّة عن الابتزاز الإلكتروني، وقد لاقت صدى إيجابيًا واسعًا وإشادة من إدارات المدارس بأهمية هذه المبادرات. 🤍@LebIS @stouhbeirut

⚠️ “One click can change a young person’s life forever.”

In collaboration with the Cybercrime Division of the Internal Security Forces, Satouh Beirut Association organized 5 awareness sessions on internet risks and digital safety at its “Women of the Sun” center in Shweir, reaching more than 500 students and parents.

The sessions included guidance on online protection and reporting methods, along with real-life testimonies about cyber extortion, receiving highly positive feedback from schools and attendees alike. 🤍
