Today in Vienna, over 350 participants opened the @OSCE Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting on preventing and eradicating torture and ill-treatment.

Switzerland reaffirmed that torture is absolutely prohibited under all circumstances and called for closing persistent accountability gaps, as impunity continues to drive violations.

As OSCE Chair this year, Switzerland is developing a Roadmap on the Prevention and Eradication of Torture to support the implementation of OSCE commitments in this field. #OSCE26CH

🏛️⚖️From ancient symbols of democracy to today’s digital realities. 💻🔐

Yesterday we visited the Austrian Parliament 🇦🇹 at the margins of the Human Dimension Committee meeting on “Elections in the digital age: digitalization and electoral integrity – rules, safeguards and shared responsibility”.

The setting offered a powerful reminder that democratic institutions are not static: they evolve alongside technology. And democracy itself is never a given – it must be defended every day.

In this context, strengthening trust in electoral processes goes beyond a technical challenge: it is a shared democratic responsibility across institutions, States and societies.
