@9ethericshi You already know your ancestors were Africans, yet you're trying to convince the world otherwise. The evidence was there long before either of us was born. At some point, denying it starts to look more like self-rejection than historical inquiry.
@9ethericshi@Afro_Research If they weren't racially Black, then in what sense were they "Black"? If you just mean dark-skinned, say that. "Black" and "dark-skinned" aren't synonymous.
@MelaninDominant It's hard to take someone seriously when they're criticizing people who run their own sovereign nation while they themselves don't govern one and rely on European systems, institutions and protection. The irony speaks for itself.๐๐
@9ethericshi@Afro_Research Ur original reply didn't say in terms of matching ancestry. It said they had nothing to do with DNA ancestry tests. Those aren't the same words. If your original point was simply that they don't perform the same function, I'd have agreed from the start. That's not how u phrased it.
@9ethericshi@Afro_Research Being a Black American and having an interest in Olmec history doesn't by itself prove direct Olmec ancestry. Ancestry claims need evidence from multiple sources, including documented history, archaeology, and genetics. Evidence please?

@9ethericshi@Afro_Research You keep explaining what you meant, but you haven't addressed what you actually said. Intent and wording aren't always the same thing. ๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ

@9ethericshi@Afro_Research Calling ancestry DNA "just entertainment" while accepting forensic and parentage DNA ignores that all 3 are based on analyzing inherited genetic variation. They answer diff questions, but diff applications of DNA science don't become meaningless bcos they aren't interchangeable.๐
