I just picked my topic for my first podcast. You’ll learn more about my life, but some thing also that I’m ready to be open about. I did finally pick a name for my podcast, I’m gonna call it savage talk.
Taking stock of the last three days. We started this campaign on Wednesday and are overwhelmed by the incredible outpouring of support you all have given @jontester. Keep it coming and bring friends. We are going to re-elect our third-generation Montana farmer again. Let’s go!
Also @DisabilityCubed@vaschlecht , Laura Hershey, Jeannie Benfield and Scott LaBarre of @NFB_voice all Colorado heroes ..great idea and we need to more of this!
@PFLAG@Riccobono I’m saddened today. Living 60 miles away and knowing people in the community. I am afraid to see the list of the dead and injured will bring heartbreak to many I know. Safe space must not be a buzz phrase. Safe space must be our planet.
Thanks to @NFB_NJ for the hospitality as Julie and I head home from #nfbnj22. It felt like a visit home, though it was my first Jersey convention. That’s what it feels like to be in the Federation family! Keep caring, sharing, growing and making a differrence in the Garden State!
The BELL academy this year, the first back in person in 3 years, was a great success. It will be back in person again next July at the Raritan Bay YMCA #nfbnj22
love the “Where Are They Now?” panel with Melissa and Ida, talking about the impact of receiving state & national scholarships. Boh talked about the xperience inspiring them to give back to other blind people as members and leaders of the NFB. #BuildtheNFB#nfbnj22
And now congrats to @nfb_voice Board Member Shelia Wright for her first National Report as a National Rep. it can be a scary thing, the first time especially, because the NFB has so many things happening on so many fronts! Great job! #nfbnj22
Congrats to President Linda Melendez on her first in-person Presidential Report. It’s also the first in-person convention without long-time President Joe Ruffalo - both his resence and absence are felt by all! #nfbnj22
Delighted to be at #NFBNewJersey’s convention this weekend with Julie Deden. They promise to teach me how to speak Jersey. What’s it to ya? #LIvetheLIfeYouWant
@Riccobono Miracles can happen. Funny, I was singing Springteen songs walking up the hil to @COCenter4Blind last week, though the traffic drowned me out

It’s Colorado’s biggest online giving event of each year, and just about our biggest fund-raising event too! It’s on the news, in your email box – just about everywhere. #blindness#ColoradoGivesDay

“Building in accessibility has historically benefited all users. Voice assistance technology was originally developed to help blind- and low-vision users before winning widespread popularity with gadgets like Siri and Alexa.” https://t.co/3z1eCw1XmF
Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act requires that disabled voters be afforded opportunity to vote privately and independently equivalent to the opportunity afforded to nondisabled voters. It applies to in-person and by mail voting for the upcoming #election on Nov. 8.
In Sept 2022 the labor force participation rate of people w/disabilities was 38% vs. 77% for people without disabilities & many disabled employees are paid below min wage. Congress must pass the #TCIEA, phase out subminimum wage & provide support for #DisabilityEmployment. #NDEAM
"We celebrate the joy of accomplishment and the pride of independence—not because of dog or cane or human arm, and not because of your ability to read Braille or use a computer. They should be learned, and used when needed. Our independence comes from within." #BlindMonth
Headed to DC today to observe an appeal by a blind federal employee attempting to preserve his rights and those of others with disabilities to have meaningful access in government positions. Hard to believe this is 2022 #BlindMonth
