Disciplining Egypt’s reckless posture should be through facts on the ground. By building additional dams, strengthening its economic base, Ethiopia can shift the bargaining balance and make clear that the era of Egyptian veto power over Ethiopian development is over.

I cast my vote today and in doing so, joined millions of my fellow citizens in writing a new chapter for #Ethiopia's democracy. Our democracy may be young, but the mandate of our people is resolute, irreversible and entirely our own. The true measure of this day stands not in the headlines of the foreign media critics I read, but in the long queues of our people I saw with my naked-eye.

HAPPY AFRICA DAY TO ALL OUR AFRICAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS!
63 years ago, our forefathers gathered right here in Addis Ababa and dared to dream of a free, united Africa, and that dream still burns bright.
Today, as the proud home of the African Union, Ethiopia stands shoulder to shoulder with every African nation in that same spirit of unity. The work is far from over. Let us move from words to action, from promises to progress.
Africa's greatest resource has always been her people, and together, WE RISE!

She sounds less like an independent analyst and more like a staunch #TPLF sympathiser. Many so-called African Studies experts add little analytical value; they often amplify division and polarisation. Why should their interpretations command intellectual authority?
