The Delta State Police Command has arrested an ACN (Eiye) cultist named Oghenebuba Mamatime (28), and recovered 4 locally fabricated gvns during an operation in Jesse, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State. According to the Police, the operation followed a complaint from a man who stated that he had been sh0t by the suspect on July 21, 2026, at about 5pm. Acting on the information, operatives of the Jesse Division, working alongside community youths, arrested the suspect, who had been on the Command’s wanted list for allegedly sh00ting the victim on July 2, 2026, along Ujomi Road, Jesse Town.

During a search, the Police recovered 3 locally made pist0ls and one locally made single-barrel gvn from the suspect. The Police further stated that the victim who was sh0t had decided to leave the Eiye cult group, which led to an argument between both men before the suspect sh0t him in an attempt to force him back into the cult. The suspect remains in Police custody while investigations continue.

While Naija Confra applauds the Delta State Police Command for its work in this case, we also want to remind them of their lapses in the case they reported on Monday, July 20, where reports indicate that the NBM (Aye) cultists who opened fir£ on police officers after a foiled cult initiation in Orogun Community have all been freed. After the NBM cultists fled to Abbi, local vigilantes in Abbi arrested them at Okpala-Uku Palace in Okwelle, opposite the Catholic Hospital, and they were handed over to the police. However, the police only displayed the recovered we@pons and did not display the arrested cultists. Residents reported that they have since been released as some of them have been seen in the area.

This incident needs to be investigated, and those responsible must be held accountable in order to maintain public trust and protect the good name of the Delta State Police Command.
