@Liverpool_CFA@lpoolcouncil just a fraction of bottles & coffee cups left behind after a kids match at Wavertree Park. Surely it should be the clubs’ responsibility to collect their rubbish after a game?
How the world works in a nutshell: giant corporations profit from an illegal war whilst the governments who wage them tell the rest of us to tighten our belts.
@Tim_Burgess A different take. Went to see Blur 1991 in their difficult post 1st album years. They had a fight on stage & the gig finished early. The support was from Catherine Wheel who totally blew them away. Leaving the gig I said to my mate “well that’s the last we’ll hear of Blur!”
One of the greatest ever anti-war (Iraq) speeches by the late, great Tony Benn:
“What fools we are to live in a generation for which war is a computer game for our children and just an interesting little channel for news item.
Every Member of Parliament tonight who votes for the Government motion will be consciously and deliberately accepting responsibility for the deaths of innocent people if the war begins.”
@CyclingLegends1 I can remember being at the Tour of Flanders in 2008 & there were just photos of Boonen everywhere. Full size cardboard cut outs in supermarkets & petrol stations. Grown men (not on bikes) in full Quick Step kits. Dogs dressed in Boonen t-shirts. It was insane!
@NOGS74 @BCFC The competition was won by Mick Wood. I went to school & played football with his son. All he won was a season ticket & he had to sign the rights to the design away!
