Oh, so that’s the narrative now?

The reality is that we have no interest in stepping into Nigel Farage’s circus and playing by the rules of a contest that suits his political strategy.

You really do need to make your minds up. When we stood in Makerfield, we were accused of “splitting the vote” and told we shouldn’t have stood at all. Now, when we choose not to engage in a by-election that many see as politically manufactured, we’re accused of being afraid.

Which is it?

The criticism changes to fit the situation. Whatever decision is made, some people will attack it. That’s not a serious argument, it’s moving the goalposts to suite.
