My next writing project has just kicked off - a fairytale mashup choose your own adventure pantomime (I hope!). It's quite ambitious. I will post updates on the script in the https://t.co/Bafgy9NXHj section of my website.
Waiting patiently for the universe to assign me my next play idea.
I’m convinced writers don’t actually have ideas — ideas have writers.
Somewhere out there, a story is floating around looking for me… and when it finds me, I’ll write the hell out of it.
Please check out my latest play 'Hitchhiker in the garden' on New Play Exchange. Feel free to leave a recommendation. It's funny and has a lot of heart.

My plays usually mix humour with a bit of heart. I’m fascinated by people — their flaws, their relationships, and the strange situations life puts them in. For me, theatre is about telling human stories in a way that feels honest, funny, and alive when spoken out loud.
I’ve loved theatre for most of my life. Acting has taken me through productions like The Importance of Being Earnest, Cabaret, The Hot Mikado, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. There’s something magical about standing on a stage and bringing a story to life.
More recently, I’ve turned my focus toward writing plays. When I write, I tend to picture the stage in my mind — the actors, the timing of the dialogue, the pauses, and the moments where the audience might laugh or sit quietly with the characters.
I am setting up a theatre group in Opotiki, New Zealand, and have a koha (gift) concept called piftix (Pay It Forward Tickets). Our theatre group website is https://t.co/NYWmcFiQIy and the link to donate any small amount to our piftix program is https://t.co/WCSnpKqGQy
My writing goal for December is to write a full-length play. The play is titled "The hitchhiker in my garden" and I have two sentences of an outline so far. I think it's going to be a busy writing month.
Big changes are coming soon, and I have a creative opportunity of a lifetime on the near horizon that is far greater than any of my other creative endeavours. I can't wait to share it with you all.
Meet Lou, from Mabel & Alice - Cash, the new hilarious play from Dan Gillgren, written as a homage to the comedy style of Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson.
Lou has a hot tip... Will Salty Kev's tip save the day, or will Lucky Last live up his name?

Meet Dorothy, from Mabel & Alice - Cash, the new hilarious play from Dan Gillgren, written as a homage to the comedy style of Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson.
Dorothy comes up with the idea of mugging people in the street to steal their bags. But will it pay off?

Meet Lillian, from Mabel & Alice - Cash, the new hilarious play from Dan Gillgren, written as a homage to the comedy of Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson.
Lillian comes up with the idea of creating a plop egg painting in the style of Milo Moiré. It's all a little rude really.
Meet Dirty Dave, from 'Mabel & Alice - Cash' arguably the best role in the play. He breaks the 4th wall and has a lot of interaction with the audience, including holding a live auction.
