@BeschlossDC I do. I was young - 11 - but I was immersed in it. I won a school art contest for a drawing of Washington Crossing the Delaware on a paper plate… don’t ask. But so many ads, speeches, shows, etc., much more so than now. And the day itself was a giant national party.
@NYKnicksPodcast Boy, how soon they forget.
Dolan does not erase a 1/4 century of ineptitude with one (unquestionably great) title, sorry. He was one of the worst owners in sports for decades… like “Big Stein,” he has time to redeem himself but there’s a lot of really bad stuff in his past.
@DanSchneierNFL “Ridiculous?” Uh, no. The Giants were a borderline playoff team that got hot at the right time. Big win? Sure. A contender for the greatest championship in NYC history? Agreed. But “ridiculous” that you wouldn’t rank them as the best ever? No way.
@nyjetshistory Man, oh man, tough week. But understood and forgiven. Plus the Knicks relieved a lot of the stress, not to mention restoring my hope for a better Jets future!
@DrMurphPodcast No way I’d rank the ‘86 Mets ahead of the ‘69 edition, for one, let along the ‘07 Giants and ‘69 Jets. There are some other ones for the list as well, ‘96 and ‘77 Yankees, ‘87 Giants. If you’re adding the suburbs, ‘74 Nets, ‘80 Isles, ‘95 Devils. And OG ‘55 Dodgers.
Got a little lost in the celebration of the Knicks championship but a good win, and an important series win, for the Yankees against their bitter rivals from Toronto. Rice and Caballero with big 9th inning HRs today after Goldschmidt’s yesterday.
