@agusantonetti There's going to come a point where the group - police or rioters - that is most willing to use violence will end this. Unfortunately I believe it's going to be the rioters and they will destroy world history treasures before it's all done.
@BriannaWu Kinda scary that people just write off whole groups of people as irrelevant or worthless. Bad things happen when we think people don't matter.
This is an interesting question because so much money is spent on them. I don't know if a political TV ad changed my vote. But mailers have prompted me to look into issues or candidates if I didn't know about them already. So they haven't changed my mind if I already have an opinion, but they have influenced decisions indirectly.
I know a lot of people like to post about venting frustrations with the GOP by voting Democrat, showing their ballots for clicks and all - but handing your state over to Democrats means you may never get it back.
Ask patriots in WA, OR, and now CO.
Once they get enough power, they alter the laws to ensure the electoral system favors them and also create districts entrenching them in the legislature.
So, if you have a problem with the GOP, the best thing you can do about it is to get engaged in the primary process and throw out the dead weight in the party with real candidates who aren’t owned by lobbyists and special interests.
But it’s always easier to sit around online and bitch.
It's an example of when a pragmatic thing becomes excessive and ruins it for us all. I've got a real issue paying a $500 cleaning fee and having to wipe counters, sweep floors, do laundry and take out trash. I have zero issue with loading and starting the dishwasher and putting dirty towels in a pile. But owners took advantage and now the pendulum swung back too far.
@ulryfam5@darreldrowland Also,
4. Amy Acton lied about being physically attacked at a campaign event
5. Her daughter called the cops on her for a drunken domestic incident and
6. Vivek campaign royally screwed up by using her mom in a stupid ad.
@happymagawife@AlexandraNRoss This whole family is dysfunctional. Amy and mom included. It's actually not surprising that Amy has had trouble of her own - trauma will do that. I feel bad for her. But I don't want her to be my governor.
How do you know she was coerced? When else has Acton been directly harassed about abuse by her opponents? She is a liar in general. She lied about being attacked at a campaign event and was willing to wreck a guy's life to make herself look like a victim. And no, I'm not saying I know she lied about her abuse as a child. She just lies about other stuff.
