📄The Environment Agency has published its Event Duration Monitoring data for 2023 showing the frequency & duration of spills from storm overflows in England.

📈Data for 2023 shows 54% increase in the number of sewage spills compared to 2022, & 13% increase compared to 2020.

💩Sewage has spilled into our rivers and seas for 11.5 million hours between 2020-2023.

🤬In 2023, 292 Tory MPs voted to allow dumping to continue while dividends to water company shareholders almost tripled to £1.4 BILLION in tax year 2022/23.
