Women are heroes, listen to this story:
I married Daniel in 2018 through a Christian wedding. He was my first love, and the man I trusted with all my heart. The day his family came to ask for my hand in marriage, I thanked God with tears in my eyes. I believed my life had finally settled.
From the beginning of our marriage, we prayed for a child. Month after month and year after year, it did not happen. We prayed, went to hospitals, fasted, and sought spiritual help, but I still could not get pregnant.
When I married Daniel, he had very little. We lived in a single-room house, shared the toilet and bathroom with our neighbours, and cooked outside. Life was not easy, but I stayed with him with patience, faith, and love.
One night before dawn, I asked my husband to pray with me. We knelt together, and I prayed for his financial breakthrough, success, and growth. I asked God to open doors that no one could close.
After a short time, things started to change. People who had ignored him began calling him. New opportunities came unexpectedly. God had answered our prayers.
I became careful with money because my husband was too generous. Whenever money came in, he spent it quickly. So I started saving quietly for a good reason.
In about eight months, I had saved almost KSh 2 million. I encouraged him to buy land and invest, but he was not ready. He preferred comfort, a car, status, and an easier life.
After many talks, he finally agreed to buy a plot of land in a developing area. That alone felt like a big win.
Later, he told me to look for a better house in town and sent me money for rent. Instead, I found a simple house and used the balance carefully.
I contacted my uncle, who worked in construction. Slowly and quietly, I started building a house on that land, block by block and prayer by prayer.
Whenever I needed money, I continued asking my husband and gave him different reasons. Sometimes he asked questions, but I assured him everything was fine. I also kept watching when his money came in.
That is how, with God's help, I built a house for my husband without his knowledge. The process was painful, but it also made me stronger.
The day I showed him the house, he cried openly. He thanked God, praised me before his family and friends, and said I was his backbone. We prayed together in the house and invited our loved ones to celebrate with us.
For the first time in many years, I felt happy and fulfilled.
By 2023, his wealth had grown greatly. He bought me a car, improved the house, and our life seemed stable again. I thanked God for everything He had done for us.
Then everything changed.
Around Easter 2023, Daniel became distant. He stopped sleeping in our bedroom. Some nights, he came home late or did not come home at all. My heart became heavy, but I continued praying and hoping that the problem in our marriage would pass.
One evening, after our prayers, he came into the bedroom and said, "We need to talk."
Then he said words I never expected.
"I want to marry another woman."
My body became weak. 😭💔
He calmly added, "I have already spoken to her family. We have agreed on everything. I want to marry her soon, and she will come to live with us. You will use the other bedroom."
"I don't want you to leave. I still want you in my life. I just no longer feel happy in this marriage."
I stood there without saying a word. The man I had supported during difficult times. The house I had built through sacrifice. The marriage I had protected with prayer and faith. The dreams I had carried in my heart for many years.I had given so much of myself to build a life with this man, but now he was telling me that he wanted another woman.I could not understand what had gone wrong.
That night, I looked at the ceiling as tears ran down my cheeks. I whispered one question to God."Lord, what is happening to me? After everything I have done for this marriage, is this how my story will end? No!!
