@yassmin_a - few Barbican members are likely to be people who could relate to JMB's personal context for his work and so there is always going to be a fetishist element to any gallery goer's experience of that context, and -
@yassmin_a Didn't get to go into much detail at the cafe this afternoon, but think there's a combination of things. Certainly the Barbican audience is one influence, especially when combined with BFR being the first real Basquiat retrospective in the UK...
@gusunger I did think, though, that the candy wrappers in the cup holder should have been a deal breaker. We're in Lisbon/Bologna for Christmas, both back before NYE though if you're around?
