Truth.
Our van burned to a crisp when I was a kid.
I was in it with family members when it started on fire. The next day me and dad went to check it out at the scrap yard and everything was burned except the bibles. They were frayed but every word was legible.
I was like 10 when that happened.
That left an imprint.
Quality counts.
Those aren’t the flimsy aluminum wedges everyone else uses to mount the gutters to an angled fascia. Those are custom fitted pvc blocks painted to match made from 2x4 pvc trim. Yes 2x4. The thick stuff.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
Do good work
@NathanQuinlanGC Tail as old as time right Nate?
Taking the low bid and it ends up being 2X-3X in the end because shoddy work.
Quality, Speed, Price.
Wish people understood they can only Pick 2
Trying to get all 3 hurts something fierce.
@sodacitysimpson Love what you’re doing with the roof giveaways. What a way to bless people who need it. Smart to make it part of your culture and branding!
We try to do that at Christmas but I think I’ll have us start doing it more frequently- thanks been inspired by you!
Keep it up Cole
@NathanQuinlanGC Eeeesh.
So many things wrong…
Terrible contractors keep the good ones busy.
But also make it harder to overcome the quintessential “contractor” stigma…
Shining the light on this stuff makes it easier to build trust- keep up the good work!
Hard Labor isn’t that hard.
People are just afraid to work hard.
Men, in particular, have been coddled far too long and given too many passes to get out of working hard.
Sometimes hard labor is easier than working hard.
Either way, men need to get to work.
Carpe the freaking Diem, Men.
Interesting take.
I’m considering how we can incentivize more productivity so we can maximize our labor. Full salary for all techs wouldn’t likely achieve what I’m looking for. Although I understand keeping turnover low or non existent.
I ensure our techs get close to 40hrs in the winter so they have no need to search elsewhere (valuable to retain rather than retrain).
Thanks Casey!
I’ll check it out as we scale our MRR efforts this year for our gutter maintenance plans.
One other thing- do you pay your techs hourly or based on performance?
I’m trying to figure out how to pay my techs performance based. Hourly isn’t super great as it doesn’t incentivize high productivity.
