Geordie Greep cited this song as a masterclass on creative chord progression. I respect him a lot as a musician and this song does something to me.

It is difficult for me to recall how similar or different I was at 17 compared to now. A lot of people have a lot of opinions on Logic (rightfully), but this record, particularly this song and the one that follows, allows me to access how I felt at 17.

I’ve followed David Bazan’s career closely as he went to my high school, graduating 20 some odd years before myself. He has a powerful voice and this song is exceptional in his catalog.

Just saw him live as he was finishing up his tour in his hometown (Philly). He is still one of the best songwriters even after all these years. This is my favorite song from this last record (which I liked so much more than the one previous).

I dreamt of this song last night! Just kidding, but it’s a great, complex song. One should never lie about a dream, for one can never prove or disprove the contents of the dream.

Getting on a plane today. Sometimes I like to time that first song to the plane’s acceleration off the ground. Here is what that song will be today. “Oh America How I Owe You One”

At Captured Tracks in GP and I found this record. It reminds me of a dream I would have as a child, surrounded by evergreen trees, driving down a hill directly towards a beach. There were snow/capped mountains beyond the water that met the beach.

He always has his way with magical progressions. His voice finds the space like a soft spot in a zone defense. It’s so beautiful in so many ways.
