All hell has broken loose at Putin's Economic Forum after Steven Seagal has reportedly eaten several members of the Chinese delegation.
Here, hurriedly waddling from the scene of the crime.
@sseagalofficial
I spent the last week in beautiful Stockholm together with some of the coolest people from the Eastern Partnership countries as part of the Swedish Institute’s SAYP program, co-organized with Södertörn University. It was a full week of productive meetings with diverse institutions and organizations, as well as state agencies, that brought me closer to understanding how this unique Scandinavian model works.
Beyond all the fun and insights, there were moments of restrained tears for me. I still have a very hard time adjusting to the fact that, from being a leader in development in the region, Georgia has become a country now excluded from many major projects and programs. It honestly cut deep to speak about democratic backsliding rather than being proud of my country’s achievements, as representatives of other countries do.
However, this pain has also motivated me to do whatever it takes within my capacity to help bring Georgia back to its original European path. Just like in 2003, we will have to work 100 times harder to return to where we once were.
Thank you to the Swedish Institute and Södertörn University for this opportunity, and a big thank you to the amazing cohort I had the chance to share this experience with. I’m really proud to be a SAYP alum.
Sweden is deeply troubled to learn that the Supreme Court of Belarus has declared the European Humanities University in Vilnius an “extremist organisation”. This is an attack on academic freedom, the opportunities for Belarusian youth and on Lithuania. Sweden is a longstanding supporter of EHU and we stand in solidarity with the university, its faculity and students, as well as with Lithuania.
Today’s decision to brand Nobel Peace Prize laureate Memorial as extremist is yet another example of the systematic repression of civil society in Russia. The decision is a loss not only for human rights, including freedom of expression in Russia, but also for Russians’ access to their history and documentation of Soviet repression.
.@MariaStenergard 🇸🇪 and @KubiliusA 🇪🇺 marked the launch of the European Policy Institute in Kyiv (EPIK).
They stressed the importance of organisations like EPIK developing bold and innovative policy ideas for strengthening Europe’s intellectual defence readiness.
New SCEEUS Report Out🌐Still holding on amidst growing digital repression? by Ekaterina Kalinina & Stefan Ingvarsson
Russia is entering a new phase of repression. It is not only the scale of repression that has changed, but also its nature.

Regeringskansliet steppar upp arbetsmiljöarbetet och återinför en hälsodag - tre gånger om året - och snart även en friskvårdstimme! Heja @FacketST som drivit på för detta.
We are very proud of our Director-General for Legal Affairs Elinor Hammarskjöld’s appointment as United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Legal Affairs and Legal Counsel. It is among the highest offices a Swede has held in the UN. This enhances Sweden’s representation in the UN and shows that we have a great deal to offer as regards knowledge of international law. Congratulations @Elinorjbh!
Message is clear: 🇪🇺 EU accession is merit-based. Fully dependent on each country’s progress. This year, Georgia has gone backwards. Georgia’s EU accession is stopped. EU’s door remains open when 🇬🇪 returns to the EU path.
Seriously concerned by the irregularities in Georgia’s elections reported by OSCE/ODIHR and other observers.
To restore trust I urge Georgian authorities to credibly address these concerns in an inclusive political process.
We are ready to work on Georgia’s European Integration with all forces in parliament truly committed to European values and principles. Laws restricting civil society and fundamental rights undermine Georgia’s EU aspiration and increase polarisation. They need to be repealed.
