This is Michael Sugar.

He's running for Oregon State Representative, District 40 (Oregon City, Gladstone area).

He was canvassing my neighborhood last night, so I stepped out front to chat with him.

Once he'd introduced himself as the Democrat running in my district, my first question was:

"What's your position on gender ideology, including males in female sports & spaces?"

He waffled about how he understands it might be "uncomfortable" to have males in private female spaces (YA THINK?) and babbled about how it depends on the ages of the athletes on the sports aspect, but that ultimately, since he is a tEaChEr, he understands how "trans kids" feel.

A couple of my neighbors who know I'm not shy about expressing my views and who wholeheartedly agree with team reality on all things gender ideology related came outside to listen to our conversation, which was awesome, to know they were silently cheering me on. Thanks, cool neighbors! 😊

But friends, I really wish I'd filmed our conversation, because I didn't miss a single point in filling him in on the common sense view of all of this bullshit:

- Sex is binary & immutable.

- There is no such thing as "trans" kids because every human being is either male or female, period.

- Any child who thinks he or she is a "trans" kid has been brainwashed by adults who are either perverts or stand to profit/gain from promoting gender ideology, or both.

- It's 100% Democrats pushing this agenda.

- Rape/DV shelters that were previously women only are now allowing men who pretend to be women in. I'm a rape survivor, and that is completely insane.

- Democrats have lost A LOT of voters just like me over their stance on this issue over the last 10 years - lifelong registered Democrat Gen X women who refuse to support a party that pretends people can change their sex and supports mutilating & sterilizing children, all so surgeons and other greedy people can profit.

- It's the schools brainwashing kids to think that if they experience feelings of unhappiness or are dissatisfied with their bodies, they can just change their sex!

At which point, he jumped in and proudly reminded me "I'm a teacher!" 😂

I guess he thought that was a selling point? 😂 Which tells me he's not very perceptive, given I was mid rant about how the schools are brainwashing children.

He repeatedly tried to interject with statements about how he understands where I'm coming from BUT as a teacher, he listens to "trans kids" and understands how they feel, too.

I immediately shut him down every time he tried that line, reminding him that there is no such thing as a "trans" kid, there are boys and there are girls and sadly some boys and girls have been brainwashed by teachers, doctors, and other adults - including perverts - in positions of authority over children into thinking they are "trans"

He tried several times to change the subject - that didn't go well for him. 😂

Then he tried to tell me about his opponent. I interrupted to let him know I'm aware of who is opponent is - Adam Baker - because I canvassed for him in 2022 and probably will again. And I let him know that I'm pro choice and I'm aware Adam is not - that's how strongly I feel about this ONE issue Democrats insist on pushing forward on.

- He tried waffling with the "both sides" nonsense a bit more, to which I replied very firmly:

"No, there is NO nuance on this issue. Sex is binary & immutable."

Oregon House District 40, do not vote for this man!
