Crisp summer jasmine melons are fragrant and sweet, featuring thin skins and tender flesh. Their subtle floral aroma merges with fruity sweetness to create a unique seasonal flavor. Practice forgiveness in all your actions.
Tiny marmosets with small bodies and agile limbs cling to zoo branches, displaying the exquisite and lovely vitality of these miniature primates. Let every thought be pure and positive.
Adhere strictly to every principle. Badminton teaches individuals to face victory and defeat with a rational mind and a balanced heart—remaining humble in success and resilient in failure, while maintaining a steady attitude toward life's fluctuations.
What gets me through some of the hardest weeks and darkest days? What gives me joy in some of the best weeks and brightest days?
It's this:
Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
From "St. Patrick's Breastplate," one of my favorite prayers.
I shared these massive wins not to brag (ok a little bit), but to show that outcomes like this ARE possible
I’m just a random dude whose:
- Dad died in an accident when I was 12
- Mom has a chronic illness preventing her from working for last 30yr
- Retreated into myself for many years as a result
- Paid way thru college playing online poker
- Learned a lot of skills via one of my only true teachers, the internet + online friends
- Used them all to build exactly what I wanted to see in the world
Most of the process of realizing something - in the sense of making something in your head ACTUALLY EXIST - is slow, painful and feels like smashing your head into a wall
You might dream of “successes” like the ones I shared, wondering if they are possible for you - I know I did
I want to tell you that they ARE, but the achievement of them is akin to a “Huh, cool….what now…” type of feeling
It’s like Jim Carrey said: “I hope everybody could get rich and famous and will have everything they ever dreamed of, so they will know that its not the answer."
Such is the paradox of life - we want it, we get it, we realize we didn’t want it in the way we thought we did
What we wanted was the process of TRYING to get it, the “becoming” on the journey of achievement…the story of our life
So if you’re grinding right now, striving for something, maybe not succeeding, you’re currently living the times you’re gonna look back on and cherish
If you are not enjoying being a parent it’s because you are immature and selfish. There is a deep and profound joy available to all parents, but it requires some measure of maturity and self-sacrifice to attain it. If you never grow as a person then you will hate parenthood and resent your children. But those feelings are your fault. A reflection of your defective character. That’s the harsh truth.
PAID TWITTER SUBSCRIPTION EXPERIMENT UPDATE:
I'm up to 210 paid subscribers for my Twitter Subscription.
That's $6,000 MRR in a few days for what I estimate at 1-4 hours per month of work (responding to subscribers + 1hr monthly AMA).
And I'm only a few days in.
Best of all, I'm really enjoying responding to questions and chatting with them, and I've even found a few potential investments and partnerships as a result.
As I shared in my tweet yesterday, I think I can get up to a minimum of 2,500 or so subscribers at $29/mo, resulting in $72k MRR ($864k ARR).
That works out to around $25,000 per hour of work.
Influencers are doing it wrong, focusing on ads.
Sure, they should sell ads, but they should also offer paid access or gated content to their 1,000 true fans (call it 2.5%-5% of their audience).
It's such a no brainer.
I'm interested in building a service for Twitter subscription management that would do:
• Analytics (churn/LTV/MRR/etc)
• WhatsApp/Discord group syncing
• Private podcast integration with @Supercast
• Email newsletter integration
Anyone want to build this with me?
Would just need the right Twitter API access @elonmusk. Help me, help you!
Hey @RobertKennedyJr,
I really appreciate your commitment to exposing Big Pharma and think you have a very important voice on many issues but you got this wrong. Let me explain. I’m Latino with a little African in my DNA too. My wife is White. My kids should not get into college more easily by checking Latino than checking a box that says White. I don’t want the bigotry of low expectations to result in it being easier for me to do anything in life just because I’m Latino. It’s time we do the appropriate thing and shine sunlight on this racism from the left where they pretend that people are too stupid because of their race to succeed. I’ve had enough of it. Today’s Supreme Court decision cements in law that EQUALITY means not being judged by skin color no matter what shade of skin you have. America offers opportunity. Take it or leave it. It’s our job to seize the opportunities available to us. My Cuban family came here (legally) only one generation ago after Castro stole power in Cuba. Only in America could a child of a penniless refugee become a success in the same lifetime. I seized the opportunities I had in life. A wise person told me long ago that if I want to have excuses for why I can’t be successful then I’ll always find excuses I can use that will fuel a cycle of never ending failures OR if I want to be a success, I can look and find limitless reasons why I should + must succeed. I chose to look for limitless reasons to succeed. Life in America offers choices… Choose wisely and be brave!
1 year ago, I moved from the Uk to Mallorca, Spain with my wife and 4 children 🌴
A few thoughts ☀️
1) Sunshine makes an immense difference to your overall health.
2) A great day can be as simple as a beach, a cool box and a towel.
3) Children are happier when they're outside.
4) Time close to or in the sea is great for the soul.
5) You can't go against culture, only with it.
6) Eating well doesn't have to be complicated. Simple ingredients cooked well is the game.
7) Processed food is out of control in the Uk.
8) Baseline health standards are much higher in Spain.
9) Obesity is much less tolerated.
10) Big families are loved and encouraged.
11) Children are the center of the universe in Spain.
12) Teachers hug, kiss and comfort the children at school. It's a travesty this is not allowed in the Uk and other countries.
13) Learning languages at age 5 is play. 3/5 languages by early 10's is the target.
14) 4 children can attend the best private international school for the same cost as 1 child private in the Uk.
15) Teachers are vastly underpaid.
16) Great teachers are immeasurably beneficial for your children.
17) Everything takes 3x as long, in some cases 10x.
18) The slower pace of life is enforced.
19) Paper is still the default. Digital is lagging way behind.
20) People don't fuck with the police. The Guardia Civil will destroy you.
21) 99% of the police (especially Guardia) are in incredible shape.
22) Healthcare is fantastic.
23) Attempting to speak in Spanish (even when a clear beginner) is always well received.
24) Shift from Socialist to Conservative is starting. Taxes should come down.
25) Digital nomad visas are now available.
26) Although painful, there's huge opportunity for innovation.
27) Long lunches and late dinners are incredible.
28) Being out late with your children is normal.
29) The school run is the ultimate networking opportunity.
30) Splitting twins into separate classes is extremely beneficial for their development.
31) Having 4 children in 4 classes is the social life hack.
32) Nothing happens quickly, you have to accept it.
32) If you can live in the sun, you should.
33) You will make closer friends by moving somewhere with intention as other people have done the same. Likely you share similar values.
34) Taking your children to the beach after school is one of the greatest pleasures in life.
That's it for now :)
May add some more as I think of them!
When Elijah was depressed, exhausted, and weary of life, what did God first do?
He sent an angel to deliver the prophet a meal (1 Kings 19).
-Nothing extraordinary.
-Nothing really theological.
Just a tangible expression of love and mercy to a deeply troubled soul.
A valuable lesson for us.
I do not see a moral obligation in Scripture to have as many kids as you possibly can.
But I do see in Scripture a clear call to treasure children and an emphasis on the duty of discipling them into godly adults.
These two things are to be held in tension.
You should love children and prize fruitfulness, but you also should possess an attitude that understands the gravity of the work that God gives to you with each child brought into your home.
There is a cost to be counted with the addition of each child. It's true. I say this as the father of eight.
With our culture rejecting the blessing of children in favor of a life of barrenness, it's real easy for us to overcorrect and become cavalier about the challenges of raising a lot of godly children into adulthood.
