🔊 The death rate in ICE immigrant detention centers more than doubled under Trump, according to a Reuters analysis. @tedhesson tells the Reuters World News podcast, 'we spoke with several inmates or ICE detainees' for the story. Listen now https://t.co/oXXUp55ykq
New: US intel agencies have recently assessed that Iran can effectively turn the Strait of Hormuz on & off -- at will -- going forward, meaning it has acquired a powerful new ability to hurt the global economy as a result of Trump/Israel starting the war, sources tell me & @NatashaBertrand.
“We have now handed Iran de facto control over the strait – a weapon more powerful than any nuke,” 1 of the sources said.
Lindsey Graham: Here’s what we’ve achieved. If this thing goes through, we’ve opened up the straits…There will be in a permanent ceasefire, hopefully, and we’ll try to get a nuclear deal with Iran. Hopefully, that will work out.
If it doesn’t, then we’ve still achieved opening up the straits and stopping the fighting
A few hours before the fights, Daniel Cormier, a heavyweight fighter who retired in 2020, posted screenshots of D.M.s between him and Eric Trump, in which the president’s son asks if any of the bouts are going to be rigged so he can bet on them. https://t.co/OitRgIeniO
None of this makes any sense, except as desperate rationalizations from a man who cannot face facts and admit defeat. The president of the United States seems to be losing his grip on reality itself.

Trump's White House ballroom is no longer projected to be $400 m. It is now $600 m. and taxpayers are projected to pick up half the tab. WaPo with a big report

The US secretly approved a financial and maritime arrangement between Qatar and Iran, under which billions of dollars were paid to Tehran in exchange for free passage for Qatari tankers and ships through the Strait of Hormuz, three diplomatic officials now confirm.
This was a deliberate and conscious course of action by the US administration, which allowed its navy to turn a blind eye to the arrangement, in complete contradiction of its declared policy. The move was intended to ease the crisis in global energy markets and curb rising oil prices.

Trump: We had two big moments—when I terminated the JCPOA, the Obama deal. It was a horrible deal for the United States. It was a deal where billions of dollars was given to Iran. They tried to bribe them to make a deal. That never works.
As I said (and this story confirms) Trump is keeping the tarp up.
His spun-glass ego can't handle this. Meanwhile, we're losing a war, gas is still expensive, and some guys are gonna kick each other on the South Lawn. *golf clap*
