@Nicholas_T55 I think these are great ways in order to create a boundary between students and teachers online. However, a short training from https://t.co/6ho8X3w6pO on digital citizen ship can't hurt.

@LeannaLee101019 I think before educators can think about integrating social media in to class, they must become proficient as to what the capabilities of the site are, and anticipate potential hiccups with utilizing twitter, for example.

A3: Some of the drawbacks of using social media in education is that, in younger classrooms, it can be easy for students' attention to drift. With one click they can find themselves on a different activity or topic. #CUIN6320
A1: Social media is used in education as a form of CMC technology. Helps teachers communicate with students as well as partake in class discussions. Specifically, I can see more use cases of it in ELA classes. #CUIN6320

I think you’re right. Video usually seems to stimulate viewers more than having to read. Reading takes a lot more deal of focus. Videos need to appeal to visual system, as well as the auditory to catch the viewer’s attention. This is easier with videos than with text.

I think Facebook and Tik Tok are great sites for what’s currently trending, however, I do think that we need to be cognizant of what we see online and filter through what is factual and true, and what’s just for show online.

A5: I think the main area where I can grow is standard 4a. I’ve always been the type to want to do things on my own because I control the pace and am solely responsible for the outcome. I realize that working with others provides more benefits than working alone.

I keep up with trends in field with regard to technology by following the areas of innovation. Companies innovate and create for what brings them money. Ex. Server CPUs and then consumer CPUs. So, by following the latest tech, we can expect innovation trickle down.
