LGBTQ+ activist and icon Marsha P. Johnson died 34 years ago today.
Her body was discovered floating in the Hudson River, with her exact cause of death remaining unsolved.
It’s 250 years of freedom for white men only.
It’s 106 years of voting freedom for white women.
It’s 72 years of voting freedom for Asian immigrants.
It’s 61 years of voting freedom for Black people.

The Supreme Court has rejected Trump’s attempt to end birthright citizenship, which is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment.
Children born on American soil will continue to be born American citizens.
A pound of ground beef at the store yesterday was more than one hour of minimum wage labor. Inflation is once again out pacing wage growth.
It's not the gays fault.
It's not the immigrant family in your community's fault.
We need to call what happened to @PeteButtigieg’s family what it is: poltical violence. Someone could’ve been seriously hurt or worse, and there’s no justification for it.
Gabby and I are thankful everyone is safe, and we hope those behind the false report are held responsible.
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus's BOLD PAC is calling on the Democratic National Committee's Rules & Bylaws Committee to select Nevada to hold the nation's first presidential primary. MORE:
I'm not running for office. But if I were, these are some of the lessons I'd take away from what happened in NY yesterday.
1. Authenticity is measurable. Voters can smell a focus group from a mile away.
2. Endorsements from the current Democratic leadership now read like warnings. The establishment wing of the party is no longer a sword. It's a question mark.
3. Conviction beats caution. The candidates who said hard things about rent, about who pays for what, about Gaza, they won. The triangulators lost.
4. Cost of living is everything. Everything else is wallpaper.
5. The middle is not a strategy. It's an empty room. Voters reached past the establishment to grab someone who actually believes something.
6. Don't fear the base. Court it. The Democrats who ran from their own voters lost. The ones who ran toward them won.
7. If you want to lead a party you have to be willing to fight inside it. Mamdani didn't ask permission. He took the field.
The lesson under the lessons: the country is tired of being managed. People want to be led.
If he was really the housing governor he’d be on the phone with Trump to get the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act passed instead of worrying about what the fuck AG Ford is doing #nvgov
Man, the Iranian team looked so exhausted before the match even started. It's disgraceful the way these sportsmen are being treated having to travel from Mexico right before each game and shame on FIFA for allowing their own regulations to be violated
Would you invite someone who called you and your wife "monkeys"--or suggested you didn't have the "birthright" to be President of the USA? Or most recently a "dumb son of a bitch"--and still remains silent as your wife was called "a man"--at his UFC fighting cage match. Come on!
