"... I saw more Messi than I ever could have imagined. Across the city, baking in the Texas sun, countless people were walking around in Messi jerseys: the black No. 10 over Argentina’s blue and white stripes.
Over the course of a week, I saw baby Messis, elderly Messis and pregnant Messis. I saw Messis on motorcycles and Messis in wheelchairs. Messis kissing and Messis fighting. I saw a bald Messi with his head painted blue. Every morning, in the breakfast room at my hotel, I had to squeeze past a crowd of Messis huddled around the waffle machine, waiting for hot waffles in the shape of Texas. I saw Messis wearing Messi jerseys waiting in line to buy more Messi jerseys. I saw one Messi playing an electric guitar. At the Dallas Museum of Art, I saw a Messi looking at Impressionist paintings... I’ve been around intense sports fandom before: playoffs, elimination games, championship parades. But I’ve never seen anything like this..."

Washington's daring Delaware crossings turned the tide of war, leading men like Hamilton and Burr to forge a new nation, yet later they themselves would face off in a duel. #History#USHistory@BobFiorettiChi@mitchellvii

"…most AI companies are going to die - Anthropic and OpenAI give no value and take your IP"—Alex Karp
The OpenAI podcast host get nervous.
This is what happens when you are anti-open source.
Will Anthropic and OpenAI learn?
Court documents released in one of Anthropic’s lawsuits against the Pentagon shed light on the underlying tensions between the government and one of America’s hottest AI companies. https://t.co/0Vhk5e6yJu
The lack of U.S open-source models forces American enterprises to choose between China and OpenAI/Anthropic, both are imperfect options.
On one hand, they don't like the word "China" and the potential ideological differences those Chinese open-weight models may entail.
On the other hand, they definitely don't want to give away their data to OpenAI or Anthropic, as both will eat up their trade secrets and destroy them later.
But they must choose one of the two options. No other options.
The 1st one is cheaper, they could have more control over data, but FEELS weird(Chinese models?? Who know what would happen?)
The 2nd one is pricier, they will give away their data NOW to geniuses in Anthropic who will wipe them out in the next model release.
To not get fired or tank their stocks, which option should they choose?
