The simplest reason is that the revenue per user is orders of magnitude higher on iOS than on any other platform. On average. As a business it makes sense to focus on your paying customers than non-paying. It's not that they don't want to support everything it's just that they prioritize their paying customers. @Betraydan I’m trying not to be negative here but the more I use it the more frustrating it is. 100 agree on toning down, too many animations and visual noise
Regarding Apple Glass, not sure why I’m not seeing folks talk about this but iOS 7 went through some mega iterations from beta 1. What you’re seeing now is the result of Apples work that has to occur in private, now that it’s public, more teams will contribute to solve the issues.
@Betraydan So far I’m mixed, asked a simple question and it took about 5 minutes vs 10 seconds on Perplexity. If anything if it can be more like Arc then that would be great
The secret sauce behind Daylight @daylightco is its proprietary display technology.
It’s not e-ink. They call it LivePaper.
Learn about the difference:
The important thing people are forgetting about the Ai pin is that it’s a 1.0. All the flaws are software related and obviously going to be fixed. The key piece is the vision and I feel like that’s landing perfectly. Very excited for what’s ahead
Reminds me of the original iPhone reviews (“We Predict the iPhone Will Bomb”). Not suggesting this is the same but I’ve always been skeptical of v1 reviews. I for one am eager for a technological future with less screen time and more presence 🤷 really wish that team luck.

It’s wild to me that this xz thing is one of the most insane exploits, 2 years in the making, that had the potential to do more damage than anyone can fathom, is discovered by pure luck by a developer noticing a 500ms lag… and there is nothing in the news about this. Real heroes really don’t wear capes 🦸
@riggaroo Kotlin and Java yo! Was definitely not part of my 2024 bingo card that’s for sure. We have our own fork of android for payment terminals so I’m still able to resist a personal device ;) still pinching myself but it’s so much fun!
I have a new and profound respect for Android developers now that I’ve been on the platform for a few months. It’s unquestionably easier to transition from Android to iOS than vice versa.
iOS really is like playing with legos where Android is playing with the whole kitchen. Mad respect!
Really excited to be part of the first wave of customers for the Ai Pin from @Humane
Love the idea of a new OS that doesn’t require my eyes glued to a screen, can take photos and memories while I remain in the moment, and can answer so many ad hoc questions and juggle the tasks I need to do in life.
Honestly can’t stop thinking about this study.
Dancing is *dramatically* more effective than our best attempts at treating depression, pharmaceutical or not.
It clearly has *massive* psychological benefits.
But how often do you dance?
Do you ever do it sober?
Did your therapist recommend dancing?
Are you on SSRIs but never dancing?
If this replicates and is taken seriously it’s potentially life changing for so many people.
I gotta dance more.
@svpino Couldn't agree more. I firmly believe that the furthest anyone should venture is towards the agile manifesto -> https://t.co/WiMvGWbrms anything beyond is bound to bring pain and no results.
