It's been incredible to see an idea blossom across different open source projects. OCI images have been on my mind from working on @CloudNativeFdn projects like @carvel_dev and Argo CD. At @gitlab, we have big ideas for OCI, @fluxcd, and @projectsigstore. https://t.co/ViRBSR5OSU
Built this @gitlab CI/CD pipeline to show an example of how you can integrate Gitlab with @GoogleCloudTech Cloud Deploy, Artifact Registry and Cloud Run to automate your application delivery from coding to production.
How Intuit takes care of its people:
It's CEO advertises to the world that those they are letting go are not meeting expectations.
You cannot make this up: it's from official Intuit comms.
If this is not punching down for no reason, I don't know what is...
You can now watch our discussion on what's going on with Carvel and what to expect moving forward.
Please know that the project will remain active. We just ask for everyone's patience as we figure out how to do so with the sudden reduction in maintainers.

The Carvel project gave me my first chance to work as a full time engineer in open source. The community let me make mistakes and also succeed in ways I could never have imagined. I know community members will keep doing amazing work. I hope these tools continue to be worked on.
Please join us tomorrow for what may be one of our last community meetings until further notice 💔😩 The only topic of discussion will be yesterday's Broadcom layoffs and the impact it has had on the project.

Lastly, writing will become much more important for developers. If you want to produce great documentation/code, take the time to provide lots of detail in writing. Keep documents up to date. And also understand the importance of being an editor to fact check.
This past week, I spent time exploring GenAI for producing technical end-user documentation. My main take away is that our own writing is what ends up producing great writing with GenAI. Our proposals, pull request descriptions, code examples, issue comments are the richest data.
There are also more minor points: 1. Would be nice if GitHub copilot had a chat feature built in to ask questions 2. Keeping feature proposals in git repos helps copilot with building context on subjects
