Scoop!
After years of the UCP making it out that there was no specific budget for "Your Province, Your Premier", it turns out that Albertans are paying A LOT!
Like almost $10,000 a month a LOT!

Thanks to every media outlet except the Globe and Mail for sweeping the blatant corruption of the Smith/Anderson Government under the rug.
If this had happened under Klein, Stelmach or Redford, it would have been front fold of every paper, and on the news nightly.
Do your fucking jobs.
Let’s be clear: Meta chose Alberta because the UCP ditched the requirement for impact assessments. They got approval without having to address concerns about the project’s impact on our water usage or power prices. Smith serves the billionaire class, not Albertans.
Surprise
"Jeffrey Rosenthal, a professor of statistics at the University of Toronto, ran an analysis for CBC News using figures provided by Elections Alberta. He said his findings suggest to him that the petition exceeded the signature number threshold."

Yeah, I’m not going to take any lessons on healthcare from a man who once bragged about his role in ensuring gay men couldn’t see their dying partners in hospices during the AIDS epidemic.
“You have to work for your $100.
“But worse, you have to consent to the government storing your banking information in their database.
“I feel my privacy and security are being eroded in the name of digital convenience.”

Columnist Courtney Walcott said that given we can feed anyone who wants a meal for 10 days during the Calgary Stampede, surely it's possible to improve many Calgarians' food security for the other 355 days of the year. #yyc#calgary

My latest is out via Indigenous Insider: While the planet burns and Indigenous nations pay the price, Ottawa and Alberta just announced a $200-billion pipeline and called it “the time for action.”
Danielle Smith says Canada needs to offer the world “stable, democratic and reliable” energy. But her own government can’t offer that stability to the First Nations in Alberta — fighting them in court, facing accusations of treason, while a community downstream of the oil sands is still waiting for a single answer about why its cancer rates are 25% above the rest of Alberta.
And First Nations won't see a cent of the profits. Alberta has collected over $315 billion in oil and gas royalties since 1974 - treaty nations have received zero percent of it, thanks to a 1930 deal they never had a seat at.
This is happening while First Nations communities — just 5% of Canada’s population — account for 42% of all wildfire evacuations in this country. Nearly 45,000 people from 61 on-reserve First Nations were displaced by fire last year alone. This is the emergency Ottawa keeps rebranding as a jobs announcement.
Land defenders have been arrested by the hundreds trying to protect this same corridor. Nations have already said, on the record, that no amount of money changes their answer: no.
This is what “nation-building” actually looks like. Read/Share the full story here:

The pipeline announcement begins with Carney acknowledging, without a hint of irony, the “biblical weather” in Ottawa yesterday.
Extreme weather huh? Like the kind exacerbated by climate change? You don’t say! Hm!!!!
"Minister of Education and Childcare Demetrios Nicolaides’ Calgary-Bow riding received three times more contributions in 2025 compared to the previous year. And most of that money can be traced back to private school operators and childcare companies." https://t.co/GgDH4eMj8c
An independent review revealed that Danielle Smith "hindered firefighting efforts" during the devastating July 2024 Jasper wildfire. The report states that provincial officials disrupted local command lines by aggressively attempting to take control and flooding fire leaders with political inquiries during an active blaze.
What the hell was she thinking?😡
Danielle Smith is incompetent.

NEW: After getting the signatures - and the premier's assurances - @CorbLund says he was blindsided by Smith's comments about leaving the @WaterNotCoalAB question off the October ballot
FULL INTERVIEW: https://t.co/XF9q7UPNBw
A Calgary noise bylaw got Danielle Smith's attention faster than the voter list data leak exposing the private information of three million Albertans.
Just sit with that for a minute.
Avi Lewis: The government of Canada just can't seem to summon the moral clarity and resolve to criticize both the government of Israel and take meaningful measures to intervene in an ongoing genocide and speak up against groups that are providing political cover for it.
@TheBreakdownAB Smith on the Alberta separatist petition that didn't even get certified by Elections Alberta: "WE CARE ABOUT DEMOCRACY! WE WILL HAVE A REFERENDUM!"
Smith on the certified Water Not Coal Petition: *plugs ears with her fingers* Democracy? What's that?"
This clown needs to go.
@TheBreakdownAB@IAMSMRT1 I’m SO tired of this government pissing away money while disabled Albertans, seniors and low income families are forced to use food banks.
@ABDanielleSmith Citizenship status and a healthcare number on your driver's licence.
Meanwhile, Albertans can't find family doctors, ambulances are delayed, and ER patients are waiting 30+ hours for a bed.
Remind me again how this fixes healthcare?
