Reading smutty novel is literally just feminine gooning and you won’t change my mind. A bunch of horny femcels simping over fictional men while participating in goon sessions with other horny femcels, recommending each other goon material based on level of GOON potential.
Your thirties is actually for fully embracing all of your nerdy interests and never feeling embarrassed about it. Never apologise or try to change who you are to suit the most boring people on the planet who will try to judge you.
You will never grow out of wanting to have fun.
I’m fascinated about this also. A few years ago he was writing emo rock ballads for teen about suicide and self harm, and now? I wouldn’t be surprised if someone actually thought this was Ozzy’s other son
@JayMoneWrites People still shouldn’t have to pay for editorial services if they are planning to query. That’s the job of the publishing house that buys your fucking book
@JayMoneWrites I don’t understand how any of these people have the connections actually needed to publish a book when they are just giving up after 2 years all the time
@CantEverDie I can explain. A lot if ppl who don’t know how to cook at home don’t know how to plan for cooking at home either. They buy all the ingredients for a meal & it costs them 60$ bc most of those ingredients were enough for multiple meals. But they didn’t plan for that, so it’s wasted
The comments in this thread are so not it. How can any of you expect to have a sense of ANYTHING after three fucking lines?
This is why the industry is fucked. Y’all’s attention spans are non existent, you can’t even read two full paragraphs without losing interest
I would. This is the first line in a while that’s made me want to see where it was going, especially from what sounds like a high fantasy, possibly YA.
@Poison_Magus I see it as creative & that’s refreshing bc most stuff, especially works within the same genre, are starting to sound all the same when it comes to author voice. IMO a lot of popular“YA fantasy novels could be written by the same author, I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference
@postler It does feel like the original post itself was made with ill intentions (maybe the OP wasn’t clear, but it does read that the intention is that this opening isn’t very good in their opinion) and people rose to the call unfortunately
@postler This is a published novel from my understanding, that a reader posted without the authors consent. So really, the author wasn’t asking for feedback at all
This means, six months later, when it was finished and query ready, I ended up sending queries to my top choice agents, with a query that stated the novel wasn’t even done yet. 🤦♀️
Yes, that’s my fault for missing it also. But holy shit what an astronomical fuck up.
Query tracker low-key sabotaged me last year when it launched the feature to save & auto fill queries, & I didn’t realize it until basically a whole year later.
What happened? Somehow, for multiple queries, they were autofilled w all the right info, except the query itself
The query that was autofilled, was a query I used ONCE, six months before any of my other queries, and before this autofill option was even available. It autofilled a query that I had sent to ONE agent, under the agents request, that stated the novel was not yet completed
