Remember when flying WestJet actually felt different? That airline is gone. WestJet’s flight attendants are fighting to bring back the airline you deserve. They need public support to stop the race to the bottom. https://t.co/l5PykK1Yzr
It was an honour to meet with the Sawridge Cree Nation. Thank you for taking the time to welcome us and share more about the unique challenges of northern Indigenous communities.
Across every corner of this beautiful place we call home, I've been meeting with hardworking Albertans who are proud Canadians.
They're worried about the future of our province and, most importantly, they're ready to stand up and fight for Canada. 🇨🇦
We hate to say we told you so, but ... "if Alberta were to separate from Canada, that could jeopardize investment and plans that rely on regulatory, financial and legal co-ordination within Canadian jurisdictions...in that amount of time, those investors may take their business elsewhere."

Danielle Smith is pushing a separatism vote to save herself, and we’re the ones who pay for it.
This isn’t now just about Alberta’s future. It’s about her political survival.

“This is about adding capacity, not replacing our public system,” LaGrange told reporters...
when asked how, she couldn't give one example... she said "details will be clarified in regulations that will be crafted"

Naheed Nenshi on a UCP staffer's failure to alert the party after Jason Kenney’s private info was shared: "[Danielle Smith] has created a culture where that kind of putting your political rival's life in danger doesn't raise any red flags. What kind of unethical immoral culture is that?"
Commissions are non-partisan. We travelled to every corner of the province gathering input from Albertans of all political stripes, holding nearly 50 public hearings in 16 locations across the province. Including written submissions, we heard from over 2,000 people. /5
In Canada, we don’t want elected officials drawing their own election maps. Instead, governments give independent commissions the job of drawing maps that reflect population trends while also respecting the challenges of representing diverse, rural and remote communities. /3
Each time Alberta has established an Electoral Boundaries Commission to redraw election maps the government has accepted the commission’s majority report, so I was surprised and disappointed to learn that a committee of MLAs has instead been tasked with creating a new map. /1
There is a reason that we do not have MLAs decide on electoral boundaries. Tossing out the Electoral Boundaries Commission and replacing it with a UCP-dominated committee is not just a bad idea. It is really bad for democracy. Ask the US, ask Hungary. This is not normal!
I call on all Albertans, all political leaders, and all Canadians who believe in democracy to speak up now — sound the alarm, write to the Premier, call the UCP ministers and MLAs, and tell them:
Stop cheating. Stop trying to steal the next election.
Implement the final report from the independent Boundaries Commission. /6
Statement from the Nobel Foundation
One of the core missions of the Nobel Foundation is to safeguard the dignity of the Nobel Prizes and their administration. The Foundation upholds Alfred Nobel’s will and its stipulations. It states that the prizes shall be awarded to those who "have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind," and it specifies who has the right to award each respective prize. A prize can therefore not, even symbolically, be passed on or further distributed.

Now he's on the record. I disagree with his stance but at least now we can say with certainty that he would run roughshod over the provs & Indigenous communities, if he were PM. This should alarm Cdns who think there needs to be meaningful engagement with those impacted.
In case you were wondering if Alberta has reached the "Mass Deportations" stage of Trumpism...
Danielle Smith has a word for you...
"Absolutely"

Alberta passed Bill 11, allowing Drs to charge unlimited fees at for-profit clinics while working in the public system. This is US style health care- if it succeeds, other provinces will follow.
Urge the Liberals here to enforce the Canada Health Act! https://t.co/otNytbKC6T
“Despite its fiduciary duty, the UCP has presided over and accelerated this degradation.
This is not innovation. It is not modernization. It is not stewardship.
This is dereliction.” https://t.co/87o5GQRBgv
