Itโs me!! I want to congratulate any MSW students who are graduating this year; we made it! In addition, I want to thank all GCSW faculty and staff for working tirelessly to ensure students felt supported. ๐ฉ๐ฝโ๐โฅ๏ธ
Yesterday was a downpour in Houston! I visited campus for a meeting and had dinner with my family to celebrate being admitted to the GCSW Phi Alpha Honor Society. ๐๐ฐ
I forgot to mention I completed this 7 week class through the UH GCSW two weeks ago! Thank you @dinispheris, for having Alexis and Bronwyn lead discussions and provide us with various guest speakers. Thank you @nla_uh providing me with this opportunity; I am incredibly grateful.
One of my favorite places in the @UH_SocialWork is the student lounge! As you can see I rolled out around 6 PM!! Parking garage was empty as well, which is incredibly rare! ๐
Since UH is closed for Spring Break this week, campus was pretty empty. I spent most of the day at the GCSW sending emails and completing homework assignments. I did run into a former @BeALonghorn coworker, Linda Hamilton! We used to be admissions counselors for UT Austin. โ๏ธ
I canโt believe itโs been almost a full month since I posted on here, whoops!! UH is currently on Spring Break but I have been working at my internship this week. Left picture is from today, woho! Yesterday I went to the movies and watched the new Goat movie. ๐ฟ
Another day at the GCSW! We have officially met the halfway point of the week. I stopped by โThe Nookโ with classmates and visited the Shasta bronze statues. My mango smoothie and chocolate cookie hit the spot!!
I forgot to mention I am taking a 7 week nonprofit management workshop that meets on Fridayโs! I am not a part of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA) but they opened I up to all GCSW students. Grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow!!
โ ๐ Green was the color of the week it seems! Happy to announce the first two weeks of the spring semester officially complete. I appreciate the GCSW for having two study areas to work out of. I visited the space with couches Tuesday and the one with desks today.
Visiting the @CenterPoint_TX Hiram Clarke Training Center was very cool! I appreciate the staff providing a thorough breakdown of operations and programs offered.
I enjoyed attending the @BridgeYearFair Postsecondary Pathways conference today. I had the opportunity to visit the CenterPoint facility and learn from industry professionals. Thank you so much to BridgeYear and your sponsors for putting this together.
Today I attended a lecture at the @UH_SocialWork hosted by @JlunaMSSW about branding and visibility. Afterwards, I had a nonprofit management class in the afternoon. WOW! What a great way to end the first week of classes. Iโm so exited for what the remains of the semester holds.
One more class this week and Iโll be done with my first full week back. The @UH_SocialWork was nice enough to host coffee and treats yesterday and today so I got a chocolate croissant. Hereโs to semester 2!
As cohort communicators we meet monthly with UHGCSW admin to discuss concerns that students in our cohort have. Itโs been a great opportunity to advocate on behalf of my peers. ๐
โฅ๏ธ I realize I never posted it on here but I am a macro student cohort communicator! I appreciate the school highlighting what clinical cohort communicators and ambassadors are doing. Clinical & macro social work are so important to the field. Happy first day of classes! #UHGCSW
Meet our student leaders. As ambassadors & cohort communicators, they are the link between students, staff, and faculty. Thanks to these individuals, MSW students are empowered to speak their mind and connect with others.

๐ Today CASE held a quarterly meeting with @HouUnitedWay and other community organizations. It was great hearing updates about Out-of-School Time (OST) changes that are impacting afterschool programs. Collaboration and connection is how we #MakeAfterschoolCool!
๐ฅณ Happy New Year! Iโm spending my Saturday at Westbury HS in HISD for a @HCDE_CASE Debate competition. I have been observing student rounds. WOW! These students are truly phenomenal; they have amazing prose and can make a great argument. It has been great to observe and learn.

๐Last day of my internship was this Wednesday; I attended the holiday party last week and this week - I had so much fun. Grades have been finalized and Iโm excited to announce I made a 4.0 for the Fall 2025 semester!! Internship and classes will restart in January 2026.
