Jamar Whitehead, a catcher at Coppin State University, threw out the ceremonial first pitch as part of HBCU Night!
Jamar is an alum of our Orioles Nike RBI program, supported by Giant Food, and we are so excited to have him here tonight.
I would like to thank Coppin State University for giving me the opportunity to continue to play baseball at the Division 1 level. With that being said I am officially in the Transfer Portal with 1 year of eligibility left.
I am a 6'2, 220lbs two-way LHP & LHH (1B/OF) from Sydney, Australia. I received NEC Pitcher of the Week (04/16/24) for the 2APP, 6IP, 3H, 1ER, 11K out of the bullpen. Additionally, I slashed .266BA, 22R, 4-2B, 1-HR, 34BB, .429OBP. Currently two-waying this summer in the Appalachian League for the Kingsport Axemen.

There’s no secret sauce to hitting.
It is a constantly evolving journey with ups and downs.
The ones who are able to will themselves to get back up when they are knocked down last the longest.
You will be knocked down and tested.
Will you get back up?
