John Calvin on Hosea 11:6, where the prophet speaks of the impending judgment upon the kingdom of Israel, “because of their own counsels.” Lamentably, this is pertinent to many modern church officers, as continues to be demonstrated by the persecution of godly, faithful men:

“He at the same time mentions the cause [of their judgment to come], Because, he says, of their own counsels. No doubt, he added this expression, because the Israelites thought themselves wise; for ungodly men arrogate to themselves much prudence; and this they do, that they may, as it were, from their height look down on God, and laugh at every instruction. Since then they who despise God seem to themselves to be very wise, and to be fortified by their good counsels, the Prophet shows that the cause of ruin to the Israelites would be, that they were swollen with this diabolical prudence, and would not condescend to obey the word of the Lord.”

@davidcvogel Just in case anyone actually listens to you, it’s worth dismantling your arguments…

In Titus 1 the apostle Paul literally affirms the testimony of a Cretian prophet, who calls his entire race “evil beasts” - that’s “derogatory”, but true; it’s also worth noting that almost certainly, not every single last Cretian was an evil beast, but neither their own prophet nor Paul felt the need to qualify the statement. The entire race/nation was put on notice.

In Matthew 15, first to point out is the humility of the Canaanite woman (you could learn something from her) - rather than being offended, she humbly acknowledges and embraces the Lord’s use of the term “dogs” in referring to the Canaanite race, and even pleads her case based on being one of those dogs - “And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” Matthew Henry says this about the Lord calling her a dog:
“Christ had placed the Jews with the children, as olive-plants round about God's table, and had put the Gentiles with the dogs, under the table; and she doth not deny the aptness of the similitude. Note, There is nothing got by contradicting any word of Christ, though it bear ever so hard upon us. But this poor woman, since she cannot object against it, resolves to make the best of it.” Quite a different spin than yours.

Last, just because a scripture isn’t cited doesn’t mean something isn’t faithful to the scriptures. Anyone can misuse and abuse scripture by citing certain verses for an evil end (for example, Proverbs 26:4-5 and Colossians 3:8).

Michael is a faithful preacher and a godly man who stands for truth and righteousness with great zeal in an evil age. He holds fast to historical reformed orthodoxy in both doctrine and practice, and is willing to pay the price for it.

You and Eli, on the other hand, call good evil and evil good. You slander the righteous, and pronounce unrighteous judgements upon them. The Lord has a special hatred for religious hypocrites like you. If you don’t repent, you’ll become intimately familiar with this hatred for all eternity.

The true church can be recognized if it has the following marks: The church engages in the pure preaching of the gospel; it makes use of the pure administration of the sacraments as Christ instituted them; it practices church discipline for correcting faults. In short, it governs itself according to the pure Word of God, rejecting all things contrary to it and holding Jesus Christ as the only Head. By these marks one can be assured of recognizing the true church-- and no one ought to be separated from it…

As for the false church, it assigns more authority to itself and its ordinances than to the Word of God; it does not want to subject itself to the yoke of Christ; it does not administer the sacraments as Christ commanded in his Word; it rather adds to them or subtracts from them as it pleases; it bases itself on men, more than on Jesus Christ; it persecutes those who live holy lives according to the Word of God and who rebuke it for its faults, greed, and idolatry.

Amen. Keeping of the sixth commandment requires magistrates to put to death those who are murderous, else the innocent be killed…

Through the apostle, the Lord literally lists different virtues for men and women in Titus 2, then closes the section with a charge to women, and a chief reason for that charge.

“To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.”

Almost like Reformed Protestants forgot why they refer to themselves by that name…there are times when the Church needs to be protested and reformed. Below is what the Lord sounds like when we let it get bad. Wake up, men.

Their zeal and devotion to these gods is apparent to many faithful Christians in the rising generation. We haven’t met, my name is Reality. You misrepresent and slander Michael, then you project your sins on him. You call yourself a reformed Christian, but don’t hold or defend reformed Christian views, and you oppose those who do. This latter characteristic is called “hypocrisy.”

Read your Bible alongside faithful men from the protestant reformation to learn how single women can do what is pleasing in God’s sight.
