Adeyinka Grandson, in 2019.
Asiwaju had not yet declared to run for office when Adeyinka made this statement.
Like the Northern Star, the Yoruba have been consistent in their demands since the creation of this union known as Nigeria.
Two things I know for sure, party politics aside, Yoruba people will not return to the Nigeria as it was before May 2023. Yoruba will also no longer subscribe to any arrangement that will put any part of Yorubaland under the control of non-Yoruba under any guise.
So help us, Olódùmarè.
Look at the views to engagement ratio.
This game is rigged against us actually because who are the people viewing and scrolling lol.
Where are all the bigotry champions cursing me in the last 48 hours just for saying Yoruba language should be a major issue. You are all hypocrites. OLMPGbY
You’re clinically insane if you think you’d get anything asides equal madness from Yoruba people. He has a name. He even won with northern votes. Votes from south west would have had him beaten blue black by 10am election morning. God will punish all of you
Complain all you want, but stop trying to guilt trip Yoruba people into feeling like Tinubu’s shortcomings are theirs. Being Yoruba doesn’t mean you’re a Tinubu supporter, and you can attack Tinubu without insulting Yorubas as a whole.
Did you give similar advice to Harry? I believe, maybe, the reason you followed a man who constantly denigrates your father’s people is to advise him not to be the face of tribalism.
So, I ask you again: did you give the same advice to Harry? Or are you just a hypocrite who’s comfortable seeing her father’s people ridiculed, but gets agitated when her mother’s side gets a dose of their own medicine?
Every well-meaning Yoruba person should be worried. This is not just a conspiracy theory of some kind, or a bigoted agenda to sow division among Nigerians.
But when something happens more than three times, it stops being a coincidence and becomes a pattern.
Why does every child with a Yoruba father and an Igbo mother end up becoming anti-Yoruba?
If a Yoruba person makes a tweet against Yoruba people, the chances that the person has an Igbo mother are 80%.
Why do Igbo women raise the kids they had with Yoruba men to become anti-Yoruba? What type of hatred are they feeding them?
To every action, there is equal and opposite reaction. I will use myself as an example. I am from Ogun State, but some of my extended family members are from Lagos. Sounds strange right? Lagos, as a State, was created in 1967 and Ogun in 1976. My people have existed as one. Till today, part of my panegyrics is the same with that of many indigenous Lagosians.
Ọmọ iwájú ọlọ́kọ̀ tí n sowó,
Ẹ̀yìnkulé ọlọ́kọ̀ tí ń sèjìgbà ilẹ̀kè
Ògèdègédé ọlọ́kọ̀ tí ń tàn yẹbẹyẹbẹ lójú omi
Ọmọ ká fọ̀pá wàá, ká fàjẹ̀ wàá,
Ká fògèdègédé ọwọ́ wakọ délẹ̀ Ìṣẹri
Back to the discussion at hand. I wasn't really interested in the affairs of Lagos. It's like the properties of my distance cousin. But when we start seeing videos of people in far away Anambra and other Eastern States holding meetings and saying "Lagos is not negotiable, we have to capture Lagos," my sense of preservation will be triggered. It would be stupid of any Yorùbá person to watch people with conquest mentality take over Yorùbá Land.
