Listen, I'm begging you. Read the Book of Mormon! My life is where it is today because of Christ and the true testimony of Him in that book. I promise that you can know that it is true by the Holy Ghost.
It's easy to access. In this🧵 I lay out how to access and where to begin.
@KKMmamaof8@nicksortor@farmingandJesus What? I don't think you know a single thing about the LDS church.
It's crazy to be this confident in something that you know nothing about.
@DaniteNotes@SteelBlaidd It makes me realize how important stamping out any rebellion to God in this life is. If sin is rebellion, we should be using the atonement to help us root out aspects of rebellion in our lives. Heaven is full of people who have fully submitted to God.
@KramersFaith@SteelBlaidd I like Jack Logan's thoughts on this in The Ancient Tradition Podcast.
God is God because of his obedience to eternal law.
He could choose to not abide by it, but he would cease to be God.
Lucifer ostensibly had more light and knowledge than us, but lost it all for example.
@KramersFaith Exactly. And it goes even farther than that. Ancient Egyptian and Ugaritic texts follow the same vein. They had beliefs from prior dispensation. This partially explains why Abrhama and the Pharaoh were so close.
@LDSMormon@VVenerabilis Amen! I haven't been on this platform nearly that long but my experience has been identical. I have much better success trying to find people who are seeking truth in the real world.
Let me try my best to explain what I’m going through.
I have had this account for 16 years and have dealt with every possible opposition that could be brought against the church. For 10 years, I spent hours and hours trying to answer people’s questions, thinking it was doing some good, or at least hoping so. But every time I answered someone’s question, all they did was come back with another one. And so I would do it again, hoping that someone would listen.
It took me quite a while to figure out that people are not here to learn or understand or even share; they are here to attack, to bring down, or to spew hatred and even venom. They come in with the assumption that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the church of the devil, and they are going to prove it and make sure that I know it.
I started asking people one question: Have you read the Book of Mormon? I quickly learned that almost no one has. Many people said that they did, but on further questioning, I discovered that they were lying. Most of them refused to discuss things once their true nature was revealed.
Most people want an argument. They want a debate, but not on sound principles. It’s usually based on some anti-Mormon literature that they’ve read. And I’m here to tell you that almost every single thing they bring against the church is either completely false, partially false, or said in such a manner that it makes the church, the prophet, or the Book of Mormon look bad. They don’t want the truth. They are blind to the truth.
So now people are getting mad at me because I’m done debating. They then make all sorts of claims against me that I don’t know the answers, I’m too timid, or something else.
This account was created so that I could have an opportunity to bear my testimony every day to as many people as I could reach about what I know to be true. I know that the Book of Mormon is True. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God‘s restored church on the Earth. I know we have a prophet on Earth today who speaks to God.
I want people to know the way I know. I followed God’s plan and path for anyone to find the truth. He doesn’t work the other way; we have to bend our will to his. This is all I want to do, but very few people are willing to do it.
It isn’t even complicated. You just have to read the Book of Mormon, ponder its message, and sincerely ask God if it’s true. Plant that seed in your soul, let it grow, and eventually, you will know for yourself, independent of anyone else in the universe, that this is the truth. That’s all I want people to do, and they don’t want to do it.
So I have to keep on going. I can only help those who want to know the truth to be able to find it. I have found it. And I’m willing to answer anybody’s questions as long as they show some effort in doing things God‘s way. It’s not my way, it’s his way.
It’s the only way.
@FaithLikeAbish2 Are you also moving to Utah right now? Haha! I'm packing my stuff up in a uhaul, literally right now!
Getting ready to cross the plains!
We, as Latter-day Saints, really expect, look for, and we will not be satisfied with anything short of being governed and controlled by the word of the Lord in all of our acts, both spiritual and temporal. If we do not live for this, we do not live to be one with Christ.
Contention is a counterfeit of conviction. Satan loves a good fight.
Perhaps that person you're fighting with could have had the Holy Ghost work in them and be converted if you had shared Christ’s light with them instead of dunking on them.
@DrGarrett907@Ch_JesusChrist I thought this as well a while ago, but as I looked into it I realized that it is done because it is the Pope's title within the church.
I feel like it's fair game since we'd also like people to call us by our official names and titles.
I understand your thought process though.
Your potential is massive.
You're just burying it under cheap dopamine.
You'd be surprised what you're capable of when you remove the overstimulation and let your brain return to its natural baseline dopamine sensitivity...
