Great to be back in Brum for Party Conference.

The message is clear. We’re ready to fight and win elections - in London and in every corner of the country.

[Dan Jackson @DanJacksontory]

This man is making a principled stand. Give him a follow.

1. After giving it a lot of thought, I’ve decided to resign from my position on the General Council of LGBT+ Conservatives.

It isn’t a decision I’ve taken lightly, but I don’t think the role has been quite what I expected, or that the GC is being used as well as it could be.

[Nick Tyrone @NicholasTyrone]

The look on Mothin Ali’s face here is priceless and really does say more than a 1,000 words could ever say about the state of the modern left.

[Dan Jackson @DanJacksontory]

On route to conference!

[Ben Harris @btharris93]

This Jacob Rees-Mogg vs Tucker Carlson interview is a perfect encapsulation of the benefits of old school, high-minded conservatism and the base evil of New Right blood and soil garbage.

[Liam Bones @LiamBones]

Great to join @morton_wendy and a brilliant team of activists for a pre-Conference campaign session in Aldridge-Brownhills this morning. 💪🌳

Now on to Birmingham - looking forward to a Conference focused on backing those who work hard, supporting enterprise, restoring control of our borders and setting out a clear Conservative alternative for Britain. 🇬🇧

[Dan Jackson @DanJacksontory]

We Tories don’t give up easily.

Arrived for conference a day early despite my present incapacity.

See you there!

[Dan Jackson @DanJacksontory]

We must stop importing this conspiratorial, yanky, right-wing populism masquerading as conservatism to Britain.

Mogg did an exemplary job of debunking Carson’s grift and gave not an inch.

[Brent Scher @BrentScher]

This is absolutely priceless.

Tucker just states as fact that Russia has a much larger economy than the UK, is completely wrong and gets schooled.

[Dr Daniel Pitt @DanJTPitt]

From the @Conservatives Bayeux Tapestry.

"Here @KemiBadenoch doth become leader."

Note Robert Jenrick crying on his knees.

[Pope Leo XIV @Pontifex]

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

[Dan Jackson @DanJacksontory]

Why is he faffing around making us all pay for any little inconvenience he has endured in his life. Anyone who has had a job in the private sector knows that airlines will raise prices for everyone to pay for this.

You wouldn’t think we were on the brink of war in Europe. Can you imagine Disraeli? Churchill? Attlee? Directing the state at such petty, private and facile grievances? They had bigger fish to fry.

[Andy Burnham @andyburnham]

You know that feeling when you book a flight for 50 quid and somehow it ends up costing 100?

Getting seats together, correcting a typo, another charge here and there, it all adds up.

When the cost of living is already squeezing people, those endless extras can feel relentless.

So we're changing the rules for you.

Parents won't need to pay a penny extra just to sit next to their own children.

You'll be able to fix any name errors on your booking free of charge.

And because the last thing you want once you're on the plane is more stress, we're working with the industry to make sure that disruptive passengers who have been banned from one airline can be banned from flying with other airlines too.

I know holidays are expensive and these are small things, but hopefully they'll make your trip just that little bit cheaper and easier.

That's exactly the kind of thing I want this government to keep on fixing.

[Dan Jackson @DanJacksontory]

It remains almost unbelievable that this man was once Leader of His Majesty’s Most Loyal Opposition.

Give him a hostile, oppressive, anti-Western regime and, somehow, he will always find something to praise.

[Jeremy Corbyn @jeremycorbyn]

We cannot be spectators in the demise of the Cuban revolution. End the blockade, now.

[Dan Jackson @DanJacksontory]

Burnham’s commitment to ending Right to Buy has received remarkably little coverage.

Labour have long criticised the scheme for failing to ensure that council house sales generate sufficient replacement housing. Fine.

But does Burnham propose fixing that failure? No. Instead, he would abolish one of the most significant programmes of aspirational social mobility ever created.

Perhaps the problem was never simply housing supply, but ownership and power: better concentrated in the hands of apparatchiks than dispersed among ordinary people.

[Lee David Evans @LeeDavidEvansUK]

"Both of my grandparents only ever bought their houses under Right to Buy. Even my nan who was a rabid socialist and thought that Margaret Thatcher did more harm than Hitler..."

In the latest @SAAC_Podcast, I take issue with Burnham's conference announcement on Right to Buy.

[Lewis Goodall @lewis_goodall]

Possibly the greatest moment of all television, of all time.

[Tom Hatfield @WordMercenary]

Emily Thornberry is so ruthlessly commited to dialectics that every Labour leader is a breath of fresh air compared to the previous leader she also supported, who is a clown and a coward.

[Dan Jackson @DanJacksontory]

Polanski having enjoyed his fifteen minutes of fame and now flatlining again in the polls, the Greens have returned to their rightful place as a perennial object of ridicule.

Yet under Proportional Representation, Burnham could make them potential kingmakers.

That cannot be allowed to happen.

Labour must be defeated at the next general election to prevent catastrophic electoral reform and consequent mainstreaming of lunatic fringes.

[Noa Hoffman @hoffman_noa]

EXCL: The Green party has produced an Orwellian glossary of ‘unacceptable’ language ahead of its conference this weekend.

Its new ‘Inclusive Terminology Guidance’ instructs members to stop using words and phrases including ‘elderly’, ‘female politician’ and ‘mothers and fathers’. Also discouraged are ‘able-bodied’, ‘sex-change’, ‘homosexual’, ‘a nutter’, ‘youngster’ and ‘sexual preference’.

The guidance recommends replacing ‘gendered job titles’ with ‘gender-neutral terms wherever possible’. Members should say ‘chair’ instead of ‘chairman’, ‘police officer’ instead of ‘policeman’ and ‘parents and carers’ rather than mothers and fathers.

PR would be a disaster for Britain!
✖️ It will create more instability
in the Age of Instability
✖️ It will cut MPs ties to a constituency in a time of low trust
✖️ It will open the door to extremist parties
✖️ It will reduce accountability & increase the power of party leaders

[Lee David Evans @LeeDavidEvansUK]

Labour MPs clapping like seals about a policy which could see them negotiating with the likes of Corbyn and Polanski to form a just-about majority government.
