⛴🇪🇹 Ethiopia makes its first shipment under AfCFTA, marking a historic step in Africa’s economic integration

The maiden consignment — coffee, meat, fruits, vegetables, pulses, and oilseeds — was officially dispatched today, a Sputnik Africa correspondent reported.

👉 The milestone highlights Ethiopia’s early commitment to the AfCFTA, set to unite 55 nations with a combined GDP of over $3.4 trillion.

The agreement aims to remove up to 90% of tariffs and boost intra-African trade.

Today, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, received Hon. Dialla Moumouni and Mr. Ahmed Bening, Executive Leaders of the Pan African Youth Union (PYU), for the signing of an MoU between the AUC and the PYU, in the presence of the AU STC Chair on Youth.

The MoU underscores the AU’s vision to empower Africa’s youth, revitalizing and strengthening the PYU as the continental coordinating mechanism for national youth councils and a unifying voice for young Africans.
